Qatar Desert Safari

Welcome to Doha! On your arrival at Hamad International Airport (DOH), our driver will pick you up and transfer you to check in the hotel. In the evening, meet the guide and the driver at the hotel lobby and later enjoy a 30 to 45 minutes wooden Dhow boat cruise along the inner Doha Bay to get a fantastic view of the city skyline. Observing the iconic offshore Museum of the Islamic Art, a mix of modern and traditional Islamic architecture, capturing hourly changes in night light and shade is a treat to the eyes. When the cruise is over, the guide and the driver will send you back to the hotel.

This morning, our first stop in the capital city of Doha will be Souq Waqif. The heritage Arabian market with over 250 years' history has streets dedicated to spices, foods, perfumes, clothes, jewelry, silver and copper decorated handicrafts. Then we will have an in-depth tour in the Museum of the Islamic Art. Inside the elegant façade of the museum, there is an exceptional collection of metal, wood and glass work, ceramics, jewelry and textiles dating from the 7th to the 19th century. Later we will drive by the Corniche - the mesmerizing waterfront palm-fringed boulevard. Stop at the Dhow Harbour and West Bay to take photos as well as enjoy the fresh sea breeze. 

In the afternoon, we will take an hour's drive to the city of Mesaieed. There our Qatar desert safaris will start! We will take a short camel ride and hit the sand dunes on a luxury 4-wheel-drive SUV. The dune bashing over the desert will offer a roller coaster experience to you. We will also explore the peaceful beach located between the desert area and Arabian Sea. Finally, go back to the hotel.

After breakfast, we will drive to Umm Salal, a municipality located 15km north to Doha and pay a visit to the historic Arabian fortress and Barzan Towers, a pair of the fort watchtowers first built in the late 19th century. Then we will continue to visit the coastal town of Al Khor. Older than the capital city of Doha, Al Khor is the city where fishing and pearling industries were the mainstay in the past. From the lively fish market, scenic corniche, to the finest of the beaches, the cultural town has a lot to offer. Later we will drive north to the port city of Al Ruwais to explore its gorgeous beach. Afterwards, drive to the UNESCO World Heritage site - Al Zubara, once a flourishing fortified pearl fishing and trading town. There are remains of the town's palaces, mosques, courtyard houses, fishermen's huts, graves, streets, canals, and fortified walls on the archeological site. We will tour around Al Zubara Fortress Museum to get to known the historic town. Return back to the hotel later. Enjoy the rest of the day to arrange your own activities.
