Rwanda Gorilla & Cultural Trip

Welcome to join our Rwanda private tours. When you arrive, our driver-guide and the representative will pick you up from Kigali International Airport with a placard and then transfer you to the hotel for check-in.

On the second day, we will drive for 2 hours to the reception center of Volcanoes National Park after breakfast for trekking briefing and then start golden monkey trekking adventure. The golden monkey is invigorating and playful. You can see them in lower bamboo zones in the forest and forage grass and observe how they feed and contact with each other. You will spend 1 hour with them. 

Situated in northwestern Rwanda, Volcanoes National Park is part of the Virunga Conservation Area which also protects mountain gorillas. In the park there are totally 8 volcanoes and 5 of them like Bisoke, Muhabura, Karisimbi and Gahinga are famous. Except for golden monkeys and mountain gorillas, the park is also home to many kinds of birds, bush duiker, buffalo and amphibians. After, check in the lodge and have lunch. Afternoon, drive to the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo to take dugout canoe for fun. At last, return to the lodge for overnight stay.

In the early morning the driver guide is going to take you to Volcanoes headquarters, Kinigi, where the park guide will introduce the trekking tips and distribute the tourists to different gorilla families. At 8'o clock, enter the tropical rainforest to search for the most endangered mountain gorillas. The trekking tour will last 2 - 6 hours, depending on the movement route of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas, you will be given 1 hour to observe the gentle giants foraging, sleeping, grooming each other and having social activities. After, we will return to the lodge, have lunch and take a break.

Afternoon, we'll drive to Iby'Iwacu cultural village to appreciate the traditional performance, learn Batwa hunting and how to make ceramics and know about the local banana brewing process. You can communicate with local people, understand the history, culture, and traditional lifestyle of Rwanda deeply. Return to the lodge at the end of the day.

After breakfast, we'll drive for about 2.5 hours to Kigali Genocide Memorial Center to know the history about Rwanda genocide in 1994. During April - July in 1994, the extremists of Rwanda's majority Hutu planned a mass murder, killing the minority Tutsi population and people who opposed the genocide. About 20,000 Hutu took part in the mass murder and over 800,000 people including Tutsi and moderate Hutus were killed in the horrible and cruel genocide. 

After the visit, the guide can take you to Kimironko handicraft market for souvenir shopping if you'd like to. Next, transfer you to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight. This best Rwanda tour ends here.
