Essence of Fann Mountains Tour

Welcome to the Roof of the World - Tajikistan! Our guide and the driver will wait for you in advance at the airport and then lead you to the hotel for check-in. After having a lunch in a traditional restaurant, we will start the luxury Tajikistan tours to explore Dushanbe. The first stop is the National Museum of Antiquities where the famous Sleeping Buddha is located. Then we will spend some leisure time at the Botanical Garden and finally enjoy a panoramic view of the city in Victory Park. At last, send you back to the hotel.

After breakfast, our guide will lead you to Hisor Fortress. In the past thousands of years, it has been rebuilt, renovated and expanded for several times. The Hisor Town next to it used to be a main stop of the ancient Silk Road. Afterwards, we will head to the Rudaki Park to stroll along the quiet green trail. Around the park are many scenic spots in Dushanbe. We will pass by and take photos at National Library, White House, National state seal, House of parliament, Statue of Ismoil Somoni, Ministry of Inner Affairs and the 165-meter-high (541-foot-high) Dushanbe Flagpole. After lunch, we will explore the National Museum and the majestic modern architecture Navruz Palace. The last stop of today is the interesting Asian Bazaar. After the tour, we will offer you the traditional Tajik food as dinner.

Today, the guide will escort you to explore the alpine lake Iskanderkul Lake situated in the Fann Mountains. It was a quite well-known scenic area and sanatorium in former Soviet-era. We will drive 3 hours via Anzob pass at the altitude of 3,372 meters (11,063 feet) to get there. Then hike for 40 minutes to watch the Iskanderkul Waterfall with a height of 43 meters (141 feet). Along the way, we will pass by Snake Lake. Then, back to Iskanderkul Lake for lunch. In the afternoon, you can enjoy the free time to wander around the lake, have a lake tour by boat on your own account or ask the guide to take you to hike around.

We will leave for Penjikent by 5 hours' drive with a stopover at Zarafshan valley and Alauddin Lakes, enjoying the splendid scenery all the way. After arrival, we will have lunch first. Then start today's luxury Tajikistan tours at the UNESCO world heritage site - Sarazm. Afterwards, we will drive to Republican Museum of History and Local Lore of Rudaki and ruins of ancient Penjikent which was a commercial city on the Silk Road. Finally, we will head to explore the local bazaar. Stay in a local hotel tonight.

Today, we will take the car to Seven Lakes like the turquoise gems embedded in the Fann Mountains. After 1.5 hours, we will arrive at the 4th lake and start a 1.5 hours' hiking tour in the surrounding village. You will have a general understanding of the local life under the introduction of the guide. Then continue to drive to the 6th lake. After getting off, we will also hike for a while to tour the 7th lake. At noon, we will have a lunch and then return to Penjikent.

We are going to drive pass Anzob pass and tunnel of Isticlol to return to Dushanbe. After arrival and having lunch, you can spend the rest day as you like.
