Just on the way home from a fabulous day with Murphy (and Mr Wong driving), and had an absolutely fantastic day, touring Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. Everything was taken care of: pick- up, tickets and food. Murphy is also very knowledgeable and willing to ensure you have a great time. I really enjoyed The Forbidden City - crowds but so much history, and of course, the Wall is amazing. Visiting in the afternoon worked well with not many people around. It’s a long day, (for me 7am- 7pm) but well worth the time. The tour also included a visit to a Jade museum and a tea house as well, but no pressure to buy anything and learning more about the jade carving and sampling the tea was interesting to me. This was a no fuss, well organised tour and the people you meet on it are great too! We all shared best places to eat and shop??. I totally recommend.

We had a fantastic one-day tour of Xi’an, made special by our excellent guide, Carol. She was very knowledgeable and brought to life the city’s historical importance. Xi’an sits at the heart of Chinese civilisation, having served as the capital for multiple dynasties and as the starting point of the Silk Road. We learned an enormous amount throughout the day.

The Terracotta Warriors were of course the highlight, absolutely breathtaking and even more impressive than expected. But the rest of the itinerary was equally rewarding: the pagoda, the ancient city wall, and the vibrant Muslim Quarter.

Everything was seamlessly organised, with a comfortable private car and a very good driver. The whole day ran smoothly, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy each stop.

Our experience in Zhangjiajie was truly unforgettable, and that’s in large part thanks to our incredible guide, Yolin. From the very start, she went above and beyond to make sure every moment of our trip was seamless and special.

She expertly adjusted our schedule so we could beat the crowds, even making our difficult request to change our tickets to an earlier time. Thanks to her planning and local knowledge, we were able to enjoy the breathtaking scenery at its absolute best. She skillfully guided us through changing weather conditions and busy areas, always finding the perfect spots for viewing and photos.

One of the highlights was when she took us to a “secret” location for a private view of the mountains—we had the entire place to ourselves, which felt almost impossible in such a popular destination. It was a magical experience we’ll never forget. On top of all that, when our son accidentally left his phone on the train, she stepped in immediately and helped us recover it. Her dedication, resourcefulness, and genuine care made all the difference.

She is, without a doubt, the best guide we could have hoped for. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie!

Our two guides Jimmy and Mia were super helpful and helped the whole group very well to navigate the complexity of two national parks to get the best views possible (shuttle buses, escalators, cable cars). Crowds and queues can be a bit of an issue, but the views are more than worth it and no wonder these sites are popular! Tianmen Mountain, the Glass Bridge and Avatar Mountain are incredible to see with your own eyes and almost mystical!

Have not gone on the tour yet but wanted to leave a review about how excellent our travel consultant Emily Xin was in arranging this tour for us. Emily also helped us organize a private week long tour after this one! We are very thankful for her expertise. She was able to guide us through the many questions we had and helped us with additional requests such as room and train upgrades, additional hotel stays, and add on activities. For our private tour, we provided Emily with a list of regions we wanted to visit (zhangjiajie, Guilin, Yangshuo) and she crafted it into an excellent itinerary with some extra ideas, activities, and hotel stays we hadn’t thought of before. We were on the 11day tour. The group was a great mix numbering 16 in total. Train and flights between cities work very well. Guides were great. We experienced crowds at sites that were not too big. Accommodations were excellent. Will definitely do another tour to different cities as there is so much to see.

Did a four city tour with travel China guide- Beijing, Xian, Zhangjaiji, and Shanghai. Was a great experience with excellent English speaking tour guides in all sites. Linda was good in Beijing who helped our team bond and teach us how to stick together that helped us through out the tour as it can be very busy and the tourists spots. Celine in Xian taught us alot about the terracotta history, Jason was patient and amazing at looking after us in the high mountains and canyons in Zhangjaiji. Kevin was an absolutely outstanding guide—knowledgeable, witty, and engaging from start to finish. He brought each location to life with fascinating insights and stories that you simply wouldn’t get on your own.
We explored Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden Palace, and the Summer Palace, and every moment felt meaningful and immersive. Kevin’s sense of humor kept things fun while his depth of knowledge added real substance to the experience.

Great Tour. Part of 4 day trip to Guilin/Yangshuo. 2 person group with private guide and driver. Tony explained everything along the way and then escorted us down West street in Yangshuo to our hotel. Tony had a great sense of humor and understood English very well. Highly recommend this tour and guide Tony. Having a private guide with driver also always your luggage to be driven from Guilin to Yangshuo with having to take it on the boat with you.

Needless to say I had been looking forward to seeing the Terracotta soldiers, and this tour did not disappoint. Prior to the trip, I was notified over Whatsapp about the logistical arrangements by Miss Eva, who was really helpful. Ms Lily is an experienced tour guide who looked carefully out for me, and navigated our tour group through the swarming crowds and told us where to stand to get good photos. She was also patient with questions, and able to communicate in English proficiently. We had a good buffet lunch above the museum shop too. My half day experience took around 5 hours, and there were some who went on for a full day tour. Thank you Ms Lily for the great day out!!! Would recommend her!

Mum and I went on this trip and it was everything we expected and more. It was a long day, but the whole trip was smooth and stunning. Thanks to our driver for getting us to all the destinations promptly, he drove safely too. Our tour wouldn’t have been the same without our guide Helen either. We were them people that brought a small bag on our first stop - which makes it more difficult as a slower queue for entry, but Helen smashed it, she was able to handle everything promptly. She was fantastic - great English, great information, great help, We love you, thank you!!!

Roger was our tour guide. He went over and above our expectations. He was very knowledgeable and able to communicate effectively the essence of the sites we visited. He sincerely wanted us to have a wonderful experience. My wife walks with a cane to help ease her knee pains. Roger recommended using a wheelchair service at the terra cotta museum. He proactively asked for contact information for the next guide in our tour so he can inform her of my wife’s mobility issues so the guide can plan accordingly and she did. My wife enjoyed the tours much more without worrying about how much she needed to walk. Roger would also request where available upgrades for our dining and show experiences.

We had a great experience going to the Terra Cotta warriors, pagoda, and Xi’an wall with Roger. He shared the rich culture and history from the different time periods which made the tour a lot interesting. Listening to his explanations gave us a better idea about the places we visited instead of just looking at cultural relics without understanding their importance.

We booked a 25 day itinerary directly with Wendy Li of Travel China Guide. She recommended the small group tour for part of our trip followed by a private tour for the remaining cities of our desired itinerary. She arranged a wonderful itinerary that included many China highlights and was very responsive with our questions before and during the trip. We had friendly tour guides and safe drivers for every city of our trip. The English speaking guides were also useful to obtain entry tickets to sites as well as to assist check in at hotels, train stations, and airports because some staff at these places did not speak much English. In the end, we were able to concentrate our energy on enjoying the sites and making good memories of our travels. I would not hesitate to contact Wendy again for another tour in China.

Carol was the best guide during our time in Xi’an. She struck the perfect balance of being friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. No matter how many times a question was asked—even if it had already been covered—she answered with the same enthusiasm and kindness, never making anyone feel uncomfortable.
What really stood out was how attentive she was to everyone’s needs. She went out of her way to make luggage tags and charge earpieces. She also made sure we had the food we wanted by being our translator, making the experience enjoyable for everyone.
Carol always had a warm smile and spoke about Xi’an with such genuine passion that it made the city even more special to explore. A truly wonderful guide who made the entire experience memorable.

We had a great trip, especially in Xi’an. The scenery was beautiful. Our favorite part was probably doing tai chi in the park. Very fun and relaxing. The food was also incredible. We have traveled to a lot of places where the food was not so good. That’s certainly not the case here. Also, our guide Tracy was so knowledgeable and accommodating. We were very lucky to have her show us around Xi’an. I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone looking for adventure.

What an action packed day covering all the major highlights of Beijing. Helen and the capable driver were amazing. The day was seamlessly organised and narration are care throughout was 100%. Absolutely brilliant and our best tour in Beijing by far! Highly recommend and our guide Helen was exceptional. You feel in safe hands and Helen offered helpful tips, including not taking bags to Tiananmen Square/Forbidden City for faster queues and recommending the best photo opportunities - and toilet breaks! Just be prepared for 20,000 steps in a day. The right footwear is key.

We had a wonderful trip. I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for fun and adventure. The Great Wall was a challenging and beautiful experience. Our guide, Linda Xie, was very knowledgeable and attentive, and had a great sense of humor. We all laughed a lot. I would recommend her as a guide every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. We wanted to purchase a tasty snack and some herbal supplements, so she assisted us with making an online purchase to be delivered to our hotel. She also helped us find a tasty hot pot restaurant near our hotel. We enjoyed the sites of Chengdu on this day tour. We wish we had more time to explore the city with Claire.

A wonderful trip organized by TCG that allowed us to see so much, from history, art and performances, beautiful gardens, and a bit of everyday Chinese life in just 11 days. A trip that was made effortless by the TCG staff, starting with Wendy who quickly answered all our questions and fulfilled all our requests. And I would especially like to thank our dear "follow Kitty" and Jolin who were exceptional, and whom we will certainly not forget.

Our guide, Roger, was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating historical snippets that kept us engaged without feeling overwhelmed. Absolutely fantastic. Unmissable. A must do tour for everyone trying to explore Beijing. This is how I have summarised this tour. I had an absolutely fantastic time. Our tour guide Rocky was absolutely brilliant. He kept us informed and was very knowledgeable humble, polite, courteous and had a great sense of humour. He really made this tour very special. The tour started with hotel pick up and then visit to Tiananmen Sq, and then to Forbidden City. We then went to the Great Wall and on the way had a fantastic buffet lunch. The visit to the Great Wall was very enjoyable and cable car ride was so much fun. On the way back, we stopped over for a tea tasting where we tasted 6 different tea in a very traditional settings. What was a bonus that Rocky carried an SLR camera with him and took pictures of us at key points throughout the day and then shared the pictures with us at the end of the day. Excellent experience.

My boyfriend and I visited the Great Wall and spent a truly fulfilling and unforgettable day there.
We hiked all the way up the mountain, soaking in the profound historical atmosphere of both the mountain and the Wall with every step. Standing at the summit and gazing out at the panoramic scenery, one truly cannot help but marvel at the wisdom and perseverance of the ancients. Along the way, we also encountered a few adorable cats that kept us company—walking and pausing right alongside us—adding many heartwarming little surprises to our climb. ??
However, the most exhilarating—and undoubtedly the happiest—moment of the day was the toboggan ride down the mountain. Whizzing down the track was both thrilling and fun; in that instant, I felt that every bit of the climb's fatigue had been entirely worth it.
History, scenery, companionship, and moments of pure joy—it truly was a perfect day.

Excellent and memorable experience visiting the top sightseeing attractions in Beijing including the Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Great Wall, and insightful tea ceremony. Many thanks to Rocky, our wonderful guide, for his excellent guidance and knowledge of history and culture of Beijing. The tour was cultural enriching, well curated and planned very well. It would not be possible to visit all the UNESCO sites in one day without an excellent guide and tour. It is one of my best travel experience and I would recommend taking a guided tour with do it it again in my next trip to Beijing.

An unforgettable trip in Shanghai — Celine made all the difference!
We had an absolutely incredible day exploring Shanghai with our guide Celine, and we couldn’t recommend this tour more highly. From the moment we met her, Celine’s warmth, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the city set the tone for an amazing experience.
Zhujiajiao Water Town was a highlight we didn’t expect — Celine navigated us through the winding canals and ancient stone bridges like a local, sharing fascinating stories about the town’s history that we never would have discovered on our own. She knew exactly the best spots to explore and the right times to visit to avoid the crowds.
At Yu Garden and the Bazaar, Celine’s insider knowledge was invaluable — she helped us find authentic gems among the stalls and gave us the cultural context that made everything so much more meaningful. And the Bund at the end of the day? Breathtaking. Celine timed our visit perfectly.

The tour guide in Beijing - Robin and the tour guide in Xuzhou / Hangzhou/ Shanghai - Celery, both did an excellent job. Well done.
Trip overall was good, except the Shaolin temple visit was not worth going for me and the tour guide there needs more training I felt.
The gratitude cost should be clearer, it is actually compulsory because it is also for the driver and the team behind the scene purchasing various tickets and making sure the tour goes smoothly.
You will need to have cash, not many places accept card. May be use Wise or master card to draw cash.
Try to travel with smaller luggages because the train rides in and out with big luggages can be hard. You can place the Small bags on the overhead compartment.
Bring roll on deodorant, one of the train ride security confiscated spray deodorants and opened alcohol.
