Absolutely amazing experience! A dream came true! Went up by cable car North Gate and came down the mountain via Eastern Gate. Very proud of my husband who’s done the trip after recovering from bowel cancer surgery!
And what a fantastic Guide was Mary! She was truly helpful with our internet troubles and she gave us so much information in regards of the history of the wall and the Chinese dynasties. We had beverages and snacks along the way and although outside was 30 degrees, we had conquered the wall . Amazing lady ! Strongly recommend Mary to everyone!

My wife and I had a fantastic day on a tour led by our wonderful guide, Carol. Picked up by mini bus from our hotel in the heart of Xi’An first thing in the morning, we arrived at the Terracotta Army site relatively in the morning before the crowds got too busy, and Carol gave us a very detailed and interesting running commentary while we walked around the site (as well as at the Big Wild Goose Payoda and Xi’An City Wall (and museum) later in the day). I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Xi’An and wanting to get a great English-speaking guide while being smoothly shown around the big sites in this amazing and historic city.

We had the best day at Tianmen Mountain as part of our 2 day tour! ! It was such a beautiful place and our tour guide Kaia did an excellent job at looking after everyone and ensuring we had time to see all of the incredible sights Tianmen mountain has to offer. I had an amazing experience visiting the Terracotta Army, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Buddhist temple), the city wall, and the Muslim Quarter. Our guide was fantastic — her English was very clear and easy to understand. She explained everything in detail, answered all of our questions, and made the whole visit very enjoyable.

The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold, which made walking around really pleasant. I highly recommend visiting at the end of August. Since it’s back-to-school season in China, the sites were much less crowded. We didn’t have to wait in line at all for the Terracotta Army, which is incredible, as I’ve heard that usually even at 8 a.m. the lines are overwhelming!

Overall, everything was very well organized, smooth, and enjoyable. I strongly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Xi’an.

I had a great feeling with Jasmine at the first sight, when we met at the airport, smailing all the time, very professional answering to all our questions about Beijing and China in general . She drove us in journey through Forbidden City, Tiannamen Square, Great Wall and all the most interesting spots in Beijing and surroundings, very patient I would definitely raccomand her and check for her again coming banck to Beijing.

Amazing Xi’an Trip with Carol!
We had such a great time in Xi’an and a big part of that was thanks to our awesome tour guide, Carol! She made us feel really welcome from the start and was super knowledgeable about all the places we visited.
We got to see the Terracotta Warriors, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Great Tang Mall, the City Wall, and the Muslim Quarter – and Carol had tons of interesting info and stories to share at each spot. She really brought the history and culture to life, and made the whole experience fun and easy.
She also took some fantastic photos for us along the way, which was a lovely bonus!

Had a wonderful time with Winnie! She was time conscience and made sure we stopped at all the beautiful scenic spots. She gave us ample time to take photos and told us where to spend more time because the scenery is even better. We even got to see monkeys which wasn’t on the agenda!

The tour itself is exactly as described with a break during lunch for 1 hour. The day is long and requires walking so bring comfy shoes. And bring an umbrella because the weather is unpredictable!

We joined this Mini tour in Xi’an to see the Terracotta Warriors, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and the City Wall, and it was a wonderful experience. Our guide Tracy was excellent from start to finish. Tracy was very knowledgeable and shared history and stories in such an engaging way that both my daughter and I were completely drawn in. Our guide was Helen, and she was wonderful.
Even before the tour started, she kept in touch with us carefully, which made us feel secure about joining. During the tour, she gave detailed explanations while also allowing plenty of time for photos and free exploration. She kindly answered questions about sightseeing in Beijing beyond the tour, and her cheerful attitude made the whole experience enjoyable. Since it was a small-group tour, we also had the flexibility to choose from several options, which made it even better.

I had an amazing tour in Xi'an (Terracotta Army Museum, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and Xi'An City Wall) and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Our guide, Celine, was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English, which made everything smooth and enjoyable.

The tour was well-organized from start (pick up at the hotel, exactly at the time anticipated the day after) to finish, with a good balance between sightseeing and free time.

We had a great first day of our 2-day tour in Zhangjiajie. We were travelling in a pleasant small group and the weather was excellent. Our guide Winnie was a great guide, took us to a variety of viewpoints and there was always enough time. We were lucky that the peak season was over and we didn't have any waiting times. We really enjoyed the day.

Our guide was Tiffany and our experience was extremely positive. The terracotta statues were breathtaking, and although there were many people and the demand for tickets were extremely high, she managed to secure all our tickets and made sure to look out for us when we were at the attraction. The sights from the city wall were breathtaking and Tiffany’s knowledge and expertise of the area really shone when we were at the muslim bazaar. There were countless restaurants and little shops but she knew the ones that were the most authentic. The tour was definitely well worth the money.

This one day tour was fantastic and I would highly recommend. The tour was flexible and the lunch was great. Rocky was an incredible tour guide and made learning about history actually interesting! Particularly in the Forbidden City, without Rocky the experience would've been completely different and we certainly wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much as we did. This August, I spent four days in Xi’an with two friends. We came back amazed—not only by how beautiful the city is and, of course, the Terracotta Warriors—but because Carol, our guide in the city, turned the visit into an incredible experience we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.

From the moment we arrived, she was there waiting for us at the train station. She welcomed us with great professionalism, and on the way to the hotel, she gave us an overview of Xi’an’s history. Finally—a guide who offers a first “sketch and general perspective” of where you are and what you’re about to see.

She’s a true professional. Her knowledge of history, art, and religion made the visit much more enriching and meaningful. But beyond that, she was constantly attentive to us—advising us on shopping, patiently waiting while we browsed, guiding us through restaurant choices, and helping us with many arrangements, which we truly appreciated since the language barrier can be challenging.

She also speaks perfect English and is very polite.

I wholeheartedly recommend Carol to all visitors and tourists coming to Xi’an. She’s not only a great professional but also a wonderful person.

A magnificent day with a superb guide

We joined a small group for the Forbidden City in the morning. Helen was extremely welcoming, informative and had excellent English.
It was a full day trip: we went to the Great Wall. Helen was particularly attentive to me (I’m 73) and I did an exciting walk without any risked.

I booked my vacation though Travel China Guide Tours and worked with Sally on an extensive itinerary. I highly recommend this company because of their attention to detail. My guide, Tracy, during my visit to this area was exceptional. Tracy spoke very good English and took care of all my translation needs. Full of energy and knowledge. She made my experience here very pleasant.

Highly recommend this small group tour company. Nina Yang provided the best knowledge of Beijing & Chinese history, provided us guidance how to get around Beijing local area in our own time, was very kind and obliging of any request we made. We were meet at the airport, driven to and guided through all the attractions and dropped off at the train station as planned. Always on time and Mr Zhangs driving was safe and reliable.

Our small Group Tour included Beijing - Xi'an - Chongqing - Yangtze River Cruise - Yichang – and Shanghai. Since we had never used this travel agency and we booked it from Canada, we were a bit worried about how things might go. There was no need to worry. I hardly ever write reviews (for lack of time), but I thought this company deserves to get a positive review.

My husband and I really enjoyed the trip. The organization was great, the sites selected are spectacular, the guides were good, and (with one exception) the hotels were very good. In Beijing, the tour included an acrobatic show at the Red Theater that was truly amazing. The dinner with a show in Xi’an was really nice as well. We give 5 stars to two people involved in this trip:

First to Wendy Lee, the travel consultant who responded to our query and organized the trip. She is great: always responded in a timely manner, was happy to accommodate our requests -from extra days to vegan food-, and was kind and professional, always making sure our trip went well. If she is available, we plan to rely on her for other trips.

Second, 5 stars go to our guide in Xi’an, Carol Chen. I can truly say that Carol is the best guide we ever had in over 30 years of travel. She provided clear and specific information about the tour, she explained things very well, she was very attentive to everyone’s needs, and she was kind and professional in dealing with everyone in our group. From talking to others in our group, I know that they also considered her the best guide in the tour. Even during the visit to the Terracotta Warriors Museum in a day that was hot and very crowded, Carol made sure we had a good experience. Thanks to her, we all left with wonderful memories from Xi’an. Thank you Carol!

Well organised tour. Our tour guide, Tracey, was able to fast track us to the sites without queuing up. She was able to explain the historical meanings of those sites in details. I believe everyone should join a tour like this to get the best out of it. There is no way for most visitors to understand the full history of these sites unless you are an expert of the whole Chinese history. She also recommended the evening dinner banquet show which was great and a must for every Xian visitor. The whole trip was a great success and good value for money. Highly recommended.

Our journey started at the magnificent Forbidden City, where Lisa brought the history to life with fascinating stories and insights about the emperors and their traditions. From there, we walked up to Jingshan Park and enjoyed an incredible panoramic view over the ancient rooftops of the Forbidden City and the city beyond — a truly breathtaking spot.

The highlight of the day was, of course, the Great Wall. Lisa guided us through its history and helped us fully appreciate the scale and beauty of this wonder of the world. She also made sure we had plenty of time for photos and to simply take in the scenery.

We travelled with Travel China Guide for 3 weeks overall and what an amazing experience. Emily organised all the trip and was brilliant beforehand getting us organised with train tickets, plane tickets, visa help, accommodation and visits etc. Brilliant! We arrived and this was our outline
Beijing - 5 days with brilliant Kevin; the Great Wall, Forbidden City and T Square plus Summer Palace etc. Also we sneaked in Universal! Tan the driver was so helpful.
Xi'an - Hot hot hot. roger led us with huge skill around the T Army and Xian including a bike ride on the city walls, 14km not for the fainthearted.
Chengdu - lovely Bella took us around but the best was the Chengdu Panda Centre, what an amazing place for the pandas to live in
River Cruise - 4 days along the "long" river, the Yangste; including the mega 3 Gorges Dam. Steven was a great cruise guide as was Max on the dam.
Chongqing - only a few hours but a fab punk cyber city explored with Richard
Guilin - Ada took us on the brilliant Guilin, what a place, limestone peaks and the rice terraces are simply breathtaking
Hong Kong - we added this in separately and TCG sorted hotel and transport there. Disneyland and a cruise to watch the lights in the harbour
Shanghai - 3 to 4 days and 1 full sightseeing day with Julia. Took us to a great lunch and also a lovely cruise overlooking the Bund. We also did Disney again.
Food, accommodation, transport, drivers, guides - it was just perfect and a great family - 3 generations - holiday of a lifetime.

Expect very big crowds at the Terracotta Army. Regardless, our guide Roger helped us to get good spots to see the impressive army. Roger was also very informative and prepared, he shared a lot of historical information and also curiosities. The lunch is around the terracotta army site, so the restaurant was kind of turistic but still good. At the pagoda and the city wall we had some free time to explore the areas by ourselves. The pickup was at the hotel, and with our surprise also the drop off - we could choose between the hotel and the Muslim Quarter. The tour provided us with unlimited water too. Great experience, we can recommend.

The tour was great. Helen took care of me (and the rest of the small group), showing us all the sites of the Forbidden city, avoiding long queues and packed places. She knew where to go, where to take photos, and was knowledgeable in the history with nice explanations. Overall, a very enjoyable day.

We had fantastic two days in Zhangjiajie and this tour. The first day we have been at the forest park with guide Tina, who was very able to show us the best spots and guide us through the many visitors. We really enjoyed every single moment of the day. Second day we visited the canyon with the glass bridge and we did the zip line and the slide way. Super fun! Our guide for the second day was Liz. Both the guides have been very nice and professional, they do their job with great passionate and are calm and nice persons, always available.

Even though we had to wake up early and the heat in the longmen grottoes was particularly high, our guide, Cissy, was excellent, not only was she able to explain everything clearly and guide us through the grottoes and the temple but her experience permitted us to see everything in a timely manner. She was knowledgeable, intelligent, understanding, and all around wonderful, going as far as to help us change the train ticket so we could get back to xian earlier. Thank you very much Cissy!!!
