She was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history, and she shared so many fascinating details that really brought the site to life. We learned so much and appreciated how she explained everything clearly and made the experience engaging from start to finish.

Celine also went above and beyond to make the day special, she recommended a lovely local restaurant for lunch, where the food was absolutely delicious. Her thoughtful suggestions and friendly nature made the whole day feel relaxed and enjoyable.

The Terracotta Army was well worth the car journey from the centre of Xi’An where we were staying. We spent a couple of hours there and, while some of the excavations have still not been completed after many years, there was still a lot to see and it was good to see that they were taking so much care with piecing together each warrior with original materials rather than just replacement parts. We also made our own terracotta warriors with clay at a local shop afterwards which was great fun.

Later on we cycled around the whole city wall (we did it in an hour, but we were going at pace) which was a good way to see the city from a height. The pagoda and surrounding grounds was also well worth the visit and we felt like many of the houses and temples in the area were maintained to a much better standard than in Beijing.

Our guide Lola was also excellent. She took us to some very good, clean restaurants as part of the tour, was very knowledgeable about every site we visited and her English was fantastic and very clear.

My trip through Travel China Guide was excellent. How refreshing it was- not to have to worry about details: transportation to a venue, where to eat, hotel selection and checking in, and city to city transfers. All of these details were handled by the Travel China Guide Tour Guides and Coordinators. In addition, the restaurant selection and hotel selections were excellent. Lastly, I enjoyed the tour guides insight about each of the cities, their people, and the significance of the cultural event or their historical relevance. Excellent tour for those interested in seeing a cross section of China, from major cities to regional ones and the spectacular sights and scenery in between. We managed to experience the major sights in Beijing and Shanghai, as well as the Great Wall at Mutianyu. The Terracotta Warriors in Xian was an amazing highlight, as was the Li River cruise at Guilin. To top it all off, the 3 day Yangtze River scenic cruise to the Three Gorges Dam was mind blowingly beautiful! The organisation of the tour by Kina in the Xian office was faultless. All guides were experienced, knowledgeable and extremely professional, from Vincent in Beijing, Celine in Xian, Xie in Guiling, Ginger in Yichang and Ryan in Shanghai - all were amazingly friendly and made the trip enjoyable throughout

It started more than five years ago. In early 2020, we established a month-long China travel plan for April 2020 with Kina, the best travel consultant at Travel China Guide. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the whole plan due to what is known now as Covit-19.

A few months ago, I found the emails that I exhanged with Kina, and I was very happy to learn that she was still working at Travel China Guide and remembered us. We do not know how many times we changed our itinerary until we finally decided to start our Yunnan tour on September 12 from Kunming. Kina was alway prompt to give us postive replies no matter how many times we changed our plans with endless patience, and she arranged excellent guides for us for the tour, although one of the three guides could barely communicate with us in English. Due to our old age, we were not able to visit Shang-rila, but we enjoyed the unique cultural heritage of Yunnan.

From the moment we were picked up in the lobby with a warm welcome, we knew we were in good hands with Carol as our guide. The tour started as soon as we departed with background info on Xi'an and our first stop - the terracotta warriors. All the information was insightful and at moments jaw dropping. Chinese history and culture is rich and Carol was an amazing host who guided us through everything along the way. It really was a special day spent. Highly recommend!

My husband and I went to 5 cities with Wendy, and it was a great experience. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, attentive to our needs, including a minor injury that was handled skillfully. They allowed us to customize a few things on the itinerary that we wanted to change. They made transitions from one city to another very smooth. We were worried because we cannot read signage nor speak any Chinese, but Wendy and her staff made that problem nonexistent. They even suggested good local places to eat dinner or sight see at night when we were on our own. I would highly recommend traveling with Wendy's tours.

My days in Guilin and Yangshuo were wonderful! Beautiful landscapes, pure nature, and a great sense of peace. Weifang (Ivy) was the perfect guide for us: knowledgeable about the subjects of the tour, experienced, kind, and patient. She’s a great communicator: a fluent speaker of the English language and an attentive listener as well. She ticked all the boxes. And she was great fun to be part of our group. By the way, she has a way of explaining the geography of Zhangjiajie and different parts of China, an innovative way which is both effective and endearing. Thank you Weifang for the laughter amid the hardship ( climbing up and descending down steps, navigating around crowds, etc).

In conclusion, I have to say, with a great deal of gratitude, that in Zhangjiajie, as in other cities of China which we visited during this trip, we had been the beneficiaries from “the kindness of strangers”; and there were many of them providing assistance with language, street directory, railway station check-in, menu adjustments (no hot spices, please!) … We thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.

We were a custom group of 16 from the USA, UK, Australia, and Sri Lanka meeting in Beijing. Over sixteen days we covered iconic UNESCO sites—the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Terracotta Warriors—plus Leshan’s Giant Buddha and canal-laced Suzhou (“the Venice of the East”). We also explored China’s dynamic cities: Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai, Cheng Du, and the vast metropolis of Chongqing.
Logistics were excellent. We moved city-to-city by high-speed train and used a comfortable coach locally. Guides were knowledgeable, punctual, and invaluable—escorting us onto trains and meeting us on the platform at each stop. A three-day Yangtze cruise from Chongqing to Yichang through the Three Gorges was scenic and relaxing; the Three Gorges Dam was an engineering highlight. We finished in Shanghai, magical by the river at night.
Our 4-star hotels were clean, well located, and offered great regional cuisine. English can be limited when ordering independently, but the guides smoothed everything.
Be aware: top attractions can be very crowded with domestic tourists; stay close to your guide to avoid separation. Also, most Western apps (social media, messaging, news, streaming) are blocked. Tip: carry a printed card in Chinese with your guide’s name and number and hotel details, as locals will be happy to help in case you get lost. Best to download offline maps/translation before arrival.
Having visited from 1987, I was astonished by China’s transformation—world-class infrastructure and seamless rail travel. Overall, a rich, well-run itinerary that balances ancient wonders with modern marvels. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely wonderful 2-day tour in Zhangjiajie, and our experience was made truly exceptional thanks to our amazing tour guide, Tracy.

Traveling with elderly parents who have limited mobility can be challenging, but Tracy went above and beyond to ensure they were comfortable and well taken care of throughout the trip. She was incredibly accommodating—always patient, thoughtful, and ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed.

Had a great time on the forbidden city + Great Wall tour! It was so cool and Helen, our tour guide definitely added to the experience by telling us lots of interesting stories about the history, and also guiding us through crowds on a national holiday. We had free time to explore with recommendations on where to hike to on the Great Wall which I enjoyed. The forbidden city was more guided and navigating to the different places was easy with Helen. We also stopped for lunch and had time to buy souvenirs. I had fun with my group and would recommend this tour and our tour guide, Helen!

I cannot recommend Amy Jian enough! From the start, she was easy to work with and demonstrated a level of professionalism that exceeded all expectations. She is extremely responsive, consistently replying to my emails and inquiries within 24 hours.

Last year (2024) Amy Jian from Travel China organised a tour of China for my wife and me. This tour was amazing and would fully recommend it to anyone coming to Zhangjiajie!
Ive seen “influencers” post on their socials that you dont need a tour guide to get around the park, but i know we would not have seen half the sites or do as many activities as we did if we didnt have such an enthusiastic and helpful expert like our guide LIZ showing us around the National Park.
There was no wasted time trying to work out which way to go, what sites to see and how to get to them or what shuttle to take, Guides like LIZ had everything sorted and the whole 2 days ran like clockwork.
I know you could easily spend several more days in the park, but if you were time-poor like us and only could do the 2 days - this tour is perfect as i swear we probably did more in these two days than most would in 3 or more.
Yes, the days are big days, but if you are only here for a short time and you want to see as much of the park as you can, then this tour wont disappoint, especially if you score someone as happy, easy going and helpful as LIZ
We never felt rushed or pressured to
Move onto the next place- Liz was patient with the slower travellers (like me) that wanted to do that extra activity or take an extra photograph along the way, but was still able to keep the schedule on time.
We went everywhere and did everything that was mentioned in the description of the tour, but i felt LIZ went above and beyond to took us to places we didnt know about either, further enriching our experience.
The tour adverised it was a “no shopping” tour- which was correct and also great - as we have been stung by these types of tours before whilst in China. There was absolutely no time wasted on this tour. 100% tour 0% B.S
The tour also advertised an English -speaking guide. LIZ not only could speak English fluently, she could understand it as well, which makes a huge difference in communication with the guests, She was also quite witty.
Overall- we were more than impressed with this tour and the guide they provided for us. Hopefully if you book this tour, you too will get lucky and have a wonderful guide like LIZ take care of your holiday adventure in Zhangjiajie for you

It was a really nicely organised tour by Travel China Guide assisted by Sunny. Right from enquiry to booking to execution, it was seamless. The itinerary was clearly shared over mail and it was quite easy to communicate over mail and WhatsApp. Our guide Winnie was amazing in taking us through the 3 day stay at the park. She helped us understand not only about the mountains but also the local culture of the region and that was really amazing to know. She even went over and beyond to get our pictures printed on magnets.

Visiting the Terracotta Army is impressive on its own, but having Celine as our guide made the experience truly exceptional. She has a rare talent for transforming 2,200 years of history into a living and exciting narrative. A perfect day. They communicated clearly about my pickup time. Then our guide, Celine, reached out to confirm the pickup time. I had a couple of follow-up questions and she responded immediately with perfect responses. The tour itself was amazing. Celine clearly set expectations about what was going to happen and when, she took really good care of all of us as a group, and, needless to say she was extremely knowledgeable.

Weifang (Ivy) was the tour guide solely for our group of 6 senior people from Australia, all related, visiting Zhangjiajie for the first time on 12,13 September 2025. She's a very experienced, friendly and considerate guide. She’s well organised and punctual. She knows Zhangjiajie inside out and, in fluent English, told us a great deal about the history of the region and its people. She always stayed with us on each part of the 2-day tour, took us to the best scenic spots for photos, taking the best photos of us - all the time making sure that we managed the steps and the curves safely. She’s a very patient guide. Weifang took us to a couple of delicious restaurants for lunches.
After hours, she arranged transportation for us in our next stops after Zhangjiajie as far south as Kunming. That was a tremendous help indeed. We were grateful.

It was a good tour. We were lucky in our first day It was a sunny day while we got rained and fog in our second day.. Our Tour Guide Nina always made sure we have a good experience, always tell us to watch our steps when climbing up/down the stairs, to stay together always, always counting in each stop we made to ensure we did not leave any one behind. She gave us a lot of snacks as we enjoy the views and sites in our itinerary. She is knowledgeable of the Zhangjiajie attractions, gave us time to take pictures, clear about meeting points and times, and always made sure we have toilet breaks.. Nina is fun to be with as a tour guide.. Lastly, I like the group pictures we had.. we met new acquaintances from all over the world… A unwritten benefit when joining a group tour
