Excellent Tour by Experienced Guide, Lily
Lily was a wonderful tour guide! I had been to the Terra Cotta Warriors site before, but I didn't realize how much I didn't know until Lily showed us around. She was knowledgeable, friendly, engaging and she catered to our wishes. She even suggested the perfect restaurant for lunch afterwards and introduced us to a variety of teas that we sampled (before purchasing, of course :) Lily was patient with us (there were three of us in our little group and we each went at different paces) and she was easy to spend time with. We never felt rushed. She also knew a few shortcuts, for example, taking the tram to the site, which saved us time and energy. I highly recommend Travel China Guide, their star tour guide, Lily and the expert driver!

    Great day at Forbidden City
Kevin was our tour guide and did an excellent job showing us around all day! He was very knowledgeable and had a positive and friendly attitude. He was happy to give us information on all the sites and answer any questions. He also helped us with checking into our hotel and showing us a great breakfast spot before the tour.

    Tracy is the best!
I don't do tour groups but on rare occasion. I am not a fan of tour groups because they tend to be more expensive than they are worth, but I will glad say that the money I paid for the Travel China Guide in Xi'an was outstanding.

A groups of 5 Americans were first picked up at the airport and brought to our hotel. Tracey talked to us about the history of Xi'an for most of the ride and it was fascinating. She told us so much wonderful information about all the Dynasties.

I have been picked up by tours and then just had the guides be lumps. She was engaging, and friendly her English was strong and it was a great way to start Xi'an. The driver was safe and wasn't too fast or too slow.

The next day we went to the Terracotta Warriors and Han Yang Ling Museum. The Terracotta Warriors is not to be missed, but having Tracey there made it so much better. She knows her history and presents it in a great way.

She brought us to a great lunch spot where we got a tea service and wonderful noodles and then to the Han Yang Ling Museum that most people miss.

Its a great counter point to the Terracotta Warriors. The pits have a glass walkway over them. You get to see many artifacts still in place from after the ceiling collapsed, but its a very different perspective. The artifacts are samplers, there are tunnels not pits, but Tracy was so helpful in explaining the area, and the tunnels.

Tracy and Travel Guide China has made me feel that not all tours are too much money. They have been great and can't wait to see them on Wednesday for the next day tour!

I have spent alot of time singing the praises of Tracy and her skills, but Angela, a faceless person on WeChat has been great in all of her help as well. She shouldn't be overlooked, or Lexi who helped me with the initial planning and pricing! Less

Weekend with my husband in Beijing
We are so lucky to visit Beijing with our guide, Rocky. The 2 days were full with nice places and he told a lot of interesting stories about them. We got a little closer to know the Chinese history, in this way was much more better then only reading about them from the web or books. He helped us to choose restaurant to eat, made our staying in the big city more comfortable. An extra point: he took beautiful pictures with his camera of the places and us. This memories are much more precious than a bunch of selfie!

    Terracotta Soldiers - WOW!
An amazing day at the Terracotta Soldiers Xi'an. As normal when we travel in China, we used China Travel Guide to book our tickets and arrange our tour. Everything went smoothly from hotel pick up to collecting our tickets. Our guide for the day was Lily. She was extremely knowledgeable on Chinese history and we learnt so much. Lily's English was impeccable and she delivered her information in a most eloquent manner. As a foreigner living in China during these sad, difficult times, do not be put off by travelling within the country. We were made welcome by the people of Xi'an and I thoroughly recommend this city for a destination. Thank you to China Travel and to Lily for a very special day.

    Review on a cancelled trip
This review is based on my experience in interacting with Travel China Guide Tours and specifically the Travel Consultant, Emily Xin. We unfortunately had to cancel the tour scheduled during the upcoming summer vacation in July due to the ongoing cross border travel restrictions due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. However the professional service and responses received, starting from the initial exploratory emails back in January to the immediate refund of 100% of the advance payment upon the cancellation of the tour, exceeded expectations. Looking forward to rearranging this trip next year!

    I will go to China.
If you read my title maybe you think "Why do you review if you did not go to China?"

The answer is that I want to acknowledge the entire process of planning and canceling our trip due to the pandemic. I contacted Travel China Guide Tours on October maybe November 2019. I was lucky that my travel consultant was Lexi, a very professional, friendly and always ready to help young woman. All my questions and interests were answered within 24 hours. Incredible thing when we live on the other side of the globe. When our itinerary was excellent and we deposited 33% of the total cost, the Corona Virus emergency appeared. The company was at all times concerned about our trip and when we decided that we were unable to go due to this worldwide emergency, the tour was canceled and we were reimbursed with 100% of our deposit. Only a prestigious company is capable of serving its clients the way we were treated. I highly recommend Travel China Guide Tours and Lexi Yang their Travel Consultant. More

Cancelled due to Coronavirus but positive experience, nonetheless.
We had business that was bringing us to, of all places, Wuhan, so we decided to bring our 16 year old and tour Beijing and Shanghai as well.

I had no idea where to begin to find a tour company we could trust but I happened across Travel China Guide. Their mini group tour sounded perfect. We asked our business contacts to check the company out and they said they were legitimate. Emily answered questions promptly, given the 12 hour time difference. She was excellent to work with and we got very excited as our trip drew near.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic struck and we had to cancel our tour just a few weeks after wiring the entire balance due to China. To be honest, I wondered if we would ever see our refund, but Emily came through. Once again, her communication was excellent.

We truly hope to make it to China at some point in the future and I will not hesitate to book a tour with China Tour Guide again.

    Thank you Guys
We had a complete itinerary Plan for our vacation trip to China.

Unexpectedly the COVID19 showed off and all airlines and hotels started to doubt and our Plans did become uncertain and risky.

Your Company was the first one in attend our solicitude and make a full refund, we really appreciate your warmth words and your prompt refund.

No doubt is left in our minds to choose again a serious Company like yours as our first-hand experiences to discover in our next year travel to China.

    Trip Cancellation.
The Travel Guide China team were incredibly helpful when it came to giving me my refunds. I was scheduled to travel to China in March, and I used them to book not only tours, but domestic flights and trains within China. Their website is really awesome, very detailed, and a really great way to plan a trip to China.I felt safe making my payments to them. Anyway I had to cancel, they were very prompt with their responses, and they were honest about the challenges they were facing. Not once did I feel ignored or that I wouldn't get my refund. They did their best to ensure that my queries were taken care of,and I received all of my refunds. I will definitely be using them again.

Excellent trip with Travel China Guide
Great experience! Guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and were outstanding communicators. Itinerary was followed expertly. Tour was well organized with a variety of experiences and attractions. One highlight was the home-cooked lunch in a Chinese family's apartment. Very nice lady and a fabulous cook! Other experiences, choice of hotels and restaurants were all first rate. A couple that I wasn't too excited about in advance turned out to be fun and informative beating my expectations. My tour was a great way to learn about China's past and present! Very pleased with my trip!

Our Travel China Guide Tour was really great
Our trip was really great. Our experience before, during and even after the trip was most satisfying. Communication of all we wanted know such as itinerary, other internal travel and even electric fittings was efficiently handled. We were greeted on arrival at the airport and helped to secure our bullet train option to get back to Beijing from Xián. We found our two guides helpful and prepared to do extra (even wrote out some helpful Chinese for us) and were patient with our varied tour group. We were very comfortable with our dining and accommodation. The tour buses were comfortable and the drivers unintrusive. There were some surprises including the chair lift to the Great Wall and the Kung Fu Show. A nice "surprise" in Xián was the Tang dynasty music and dance show after a dumpling meal! Tai Chi and other activities in the City Wall Park were wonderful. I'll have to go back as I didn't quite master the use of chopsticks but we foreigners were usually provided with forks. When it More

    Excellent Time in Beijing
Booking with Travel China Guide Tours was fantastic. I learned about the city beforehand through their website, and was interested in the various tours they offered. Our consultant, Emily, made it very easy and comforting to book a day trip during our short stay in Beijing. Our tour guide, Kitty, was very helpful in guiding us through Beijing. She picked us up straight from the hotel, took us to the Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, the Olympic Park, and the Mutianyu Great Wall, all the while explaining the wonderful sights we were seeing. We definitely couldn't have done it ourselves! I would absolutely book with them for another tour China tour. Thank you once again Emily and Kitty from Travel China Guide Tours!

A great holiday experience in China
This was our first experience holidaying in Asia and Travel China Guide Tours was there for us every step of the way. Right for the start the holiday was tailor made for us and we had the same rep helping us along the way, she was extremely helpful, replying to any questions or queries we had almost immediately, which was most impressive taking into account the time difference between England and China. The holiday lived up to our expectations and probably exceeded them, I was quite nervous visiting this part of the world but going as part of a guided tour was great. The hotels and restaurants were great, the tour guides looked after us well and were all very knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend them and would certainly book with them again.

    Magnificent China tour
My grandson was studying for a semester at Seoul National university and suggested that we tour for sometime before returning to Canada. I came across Xi'an Marco polo International Travel service Co. Ltd. when exploring the website of CVAC (China Visa application center) in Toronto. As neither of us had travelled in the "Far East" before, had little knowledge of China, and did not speak Mandarin, we thought it sensible to have tour guides from a company familiar with the country I am glad we did! Our itinerary was carefully planned, and went fully according to plan. Our tour coordinator, Vera Yu, assisted us with the itinerary, paperwork and documentation for arrival in Beijing, and even arranged to meet us in Xi'an.
The tour was magnificent, although strenuous for me as a senior, and covered many of the sites and cities we had heard of over the years. Hotels were beyond our expectations, and cheap, from what we experienced in North America. Hotel meals were generally excellent but we More

The tour was magnificent, although strenuous for me as a senior, and covered many of the sites and cities we had heard of over the years. Hotels were beyond our expectations, and cheap, from what we experienced in North America. Hotel meals were generally excellent but we preferred to eat in local cafes; this was much cheaper and not at all difficult as most cafes had pictures of their menus posted outside, and staff were always helpful. In fact we were sometimes overwhelmed with how friendly and helpful Chinese people are.
On the Yangste cruise, where we were the only Westerners, several crew members spoke some English, and the public announcements were often repeated in English or the benefit of non-Mandarin speakers. This cruise was spectacular giving much insight into daily life in China, and culminating in the magnificent 3-Gorges Dam.
In Shanghai we went on our own with a bus tour of the city, a river cruise, and walking.I must add that I felt safer walking a night in Shanghai than I have felt in many North American cities. The Shanghai Bund (river walk), night lights on the Huangou river, and the Shanghai tower should be on everyone's bucket list.

I just wish we had more time available! Less
