China; Beijing to Shanghai with Linda, Lily and Kevin with Travel China Guide company
Travel China Guide gave us a most excellent experience on our first trip to China in May 2019.
The experience was remarkable and more than we had hoped for.
The sites and activities were outstanding.
We saw the usual renowned historic places plus some more personal experiences like a home cooked meal in a private home.
All of our guides; Linda, Lily, and Kevin were EXCELLENT and very personable. They were open, funny and we felt like we developed friendships along the way. Their English was excellent too.
This tour changed our image of China and her people for the better.
We hope they can someday get visas to visit us.
(And we certainly hope our political leaders will improve relationships.) Hotels and food were consistently first class.
Lots of walking which we enjoy, and our guide even arranged for foot massages!
Minimal downsides: too much traffic, too many people in the cities, some days pollution and air quality ... More

As American cities are working to become more "bicycle friendly", China's cities are clogged with too many BIG cars.
China, you need to go back to bicycles please.
Thanks again and again for a wonderful time! Less

This tour ticks all the boxes and more
Having just come back from this tour, I would highly recommend it to anyone from 10 years upwards. It covered all the interesting sights with so much extra added. The tour guides were outstanding. Candy in Beijing was a real one off, warm and funny. Tracy in Xi’an was elegant and sophisticated, Valerie was so helpful in Shanghai giving us tips for our extra days there ourselves. The experiences were excellent getting to meet real farmers and families. The meals that were included were outstanding. The accommodation was great. We quickly made friends with our groups and had some good laughs and have exchanged emails. I would do this trip again. I have to end by saying a big thank you to Emily, who was my contact person, who helped me with all the planning . She always answered my emails and it was a highlight actually meeting her in person in Xi’an. She made this trip for me. Thank you travel China guide. I will definitely recommend you to all my friends and famil.

    Greatest experience
I started by contacting the company to book a private tour for me and my coworker. All information was received promptly and precise. Every question was answered in great detail. All follow up information was given and received in a timely manner. The communications was professional. Our tour guide, Barry, arrived early and was waiting in the lobby of our hotel. Upond seeing us he greated us in a down to earth, friendly and professional manner. Travel to the tour site was comfortable and informative. Berry supplied information about different locations while enroute to the Great Wall. Once at the tour site we never felt rushed. Barry was with us every step of out tour.

I would most definitely book a private tour again especially if Barry is my guide. Thanks.....

Excellent and professional guide offered by this company
First I want everyone to know I am not getting paid to write this review.

What an experience, joining this tour group ensured that you are being taken cared of. Excellent on point drivers and very professional and knowledgeable guide is hired by this company, all the tickets are arranged and you only have to do what is told, there is a lot of walking (about 4km) in the first day in forbidden city so be warned, especially in a huge crowd surrounding the area so be prepared for that, the meals they arranged is excellent, however the guide will order the food for you in advanced to save time so if there is specific request let them know in advance, language can be a problem in China but if there is any question, just ask you guide. We will recommend this tour group for anyone that want to visit China in the future!

    A TRIP OF A LIFETIME
My wife and I recently toured China as part of a family group.

The package which included Beijing, Xían, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hangzhou was put together by TravelChinaGuide who did an excellent job. They paid careful attention to our particular requirements and were true to their promise that there would be no shopping trips.

Of course, for a tour programme to be a success, one needs tour guides to implement it. And here, we cannot speak highly enough of the people who were allocated to us.

We had Barry in Beijing, Celene in Xían, Lisa in Chengdu, Sophie in Shanghai and Rainbow in Hangzhou.

Everyone of them was knowledgeable, experienced, flexible with our schedules and sensitive to our needs (especially important as our group included children and seniors).

What a lovely surprise it was when Barry presented us with a lovely cake for our 50th wedding anniversary! And how pleased we all were when Celine presented us with photos of the group ... More

I booked an 11-day tour with Travel China Guide for me and my children, hoping for the very best. We had rarely relied on guided tours when traveling, but I didn't feel confident that I could replicate what I saw online, so I gave it a try. I was worried about the mix of people who would sign up for a tour, and the quality of the guides, but was reassured by the reviews I saw online. Travel China Guide surpassed all of my expectations. Wendy, who helped us plan our tour, was incredibly responsive and helpful. Tina, Carol, and Li, our guides were superb - warm, knowledgeable, and extremely capable. Tina made us feel right at home and welcome in a foreign country, Carol gave us a much deeper understanding of Xi'an, and Li did everything she could to show us the natural wonders of Guilin. (I felt terribly when I left a bag on a dinner cruise, but Li enlisted her husband to pick it up, so I had it back within 15 minutes.) I am grateful to all of them. I was also surprised how nice the hotels were, and how delicious the meals Travel China Guide arranged were. We signed up for a no-shopping tour and appreciated being steered away from untrustworthy vendors, and coached on how not to overpay.

After the tour we moved on to Japan, I better appreciated how much Travel China Guide did for us. Our tour in China included two flights and one high-speed train. Our guides stayed with us through check-in, and picked us up at baggage claim, fitting in tours in the hours left in the day. In Japan we were on our own, constantly getting lost. I missed having each day so perfectly planned for us, with an air-conditioned bus stocked with bottles of water waiting for us in the morning, and taking us back to our hotel at night.

We also really enjoyed getting to know the people in our group, including a French man who had traveled all over the world and joined us from Mongolia, an American who now teaches in Myanmar, another family with a boy my son’s age, and a group of 20-somethings from Alabama and LA that took my kids under their wings. The days were packed in the best possible way. There was also plenty of time to see each site and spend time with my family.

I think China Travel Guide is very, very reasonably priced for the experience we had. My only regret is that my parents couldn't join us. It was their idea to go to China, but my father got sick before the trip.

I had been to China once before ten years ago for work, and loved seeing how the country is changing, how welcoming everyone is, and how stunning China’s sites ar. Less

Perfect trip with - China travel guide
We took the 2019-SG07 Small Group Tour of 11 Days Beijing - Xi'an - Chongqing - Yangtze River Cruise - Yichang - Shanghai with TRAVEL CHINA GUIDE from 30th May until 9th June 2019. Ours was a group of 5

    c. TCG were prompt in responding prior to our travel and also their guides where equally prompt during our time in China. This was indeed a well-run teaming & coordination that I experienced.
    d. Each of the hotels that I stayed in were top class (4 or 5 stars); the shows we visited were nice; our bookings were all there on time and on schedule; when we landed at the hotel, we had all paperwork done and could go and hit the bed immediately (we did have a small issue in Beijing where we had 2 rooms which were on different floors; however after sending a short wechat message to Selina, that too got resolved in the next 3 hours and my uncle/aunt were able to move next door to ours – again; great coordination).

This has been a very good trip for my entire family and a very good tour investment. I will definitely look for TRAVEL CHINA GUIDE if we were to travel to China again.

The tour, covering 6 cities including Yangtze River cruise, was very well organized with clockwork precision that made us very happy. The professional & friendly Guides made us very relaxed, explained the history & culture of each place we visited, and looked after our needs like a family. When we were travelling from city to city, the Guides were ready with Air /Train tickets, and came to the Bullet Train stations / Airports, to send off & receive us, to ensure our journey was comfortable.

The hotels were all 5* star Sheraton Group in each city with Western & Chinese breakfast menu every morning. Transportation was always in luxury vehicles. Food was excellent. Kelly Wang, our Travel Consultant visited us during a delicious lunch served by Shi family in Xian. Susan was our professional guide in X'ian.

China's history & culture date back to five thousand years. China is highly advanced in technology & transport. The cities are historical, but modern, clean and safe for foreigners. If you want to explore China, we highly recommend Travel China Guide for your tour! We are very pleased with them. Less

The best way to experience the essential sights in China.
If you want to see the essential sights in China, this tour will meet and exceed your expectations and I cannot recommend this tour -- and TravelChinaGuide -- enough. The trip was very well-organized and the guides I had were amazing as they truly went above and beyond to meet the needs of both me and my group-mates. My guides were; Kevin in Beijing, Jacky in Xi'an, and Li in Guilin/Yangshuo. On top of being all-around great people, the guides provided cultural insights that truly enhanced the tour.

Side note: I would also recommend a small group tour for anyone who do not want to travel with a large group of people but who also does not want to do a private tour. Our group was 14 people and it was small enough to be more personal than it would have been had I gone with a group of 40+ people.

We booked a two-day tour of Beijing which included the Forbidden City, Great Wall, Summer Palace as well as a few other amazing attractions around the city. Our tour guide and driver was very professional, and the tour guide's knowledge was excellent. I'd highly recommend Travel China Tours, it also makes a huge difference having a local tour guide. The tour was for my parents, my wife and myself.

Just something to add, the tour guide went beyond the extra mile... my dad lost his cellphone the previous evening while in a taxi. She managed to phone the person that had the phone and helped arrange it's retrieval.

    Loved the Tour
I had never heard of Travel China Guide Tours. I found them through an online search. I was hesitant about using them, but I am glad I took that leap of faith!
I was on the 11-day tour, which was very well run Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Shanghai. Candy, the first guide in Beijing met us at the airport. She was very warm and welcoming.
We stayed in Sheraton Hotels on most of the trip. The breakfast buffets were outstanding. You could have a traditional Western breakfast, but you could also have Asian items. You could not eat all the choices (although I tried :).
We hit the major must-sees at each location. There were different guides in each city. Candy, Carol, Wendy, and Ocean, were knowledgeable, gave a lot of insight on local customs and history, and helped you enjoy your time at each stop. Also the stops are announced in English (after the Mandarin announcement). I would take the subway to the airport using the magnetic levitation train--one of the few in the world.
In each city the guides hosted a lunch and or dinner. The food was excellent--a wide assortment of Chinese specialties. However, the highlight was a home-cooked lunch in the apartment of a local Beijing resident.

    Exceptionally Well Organised Tour
We used Travel China Guide for a customised 15 day private tour of China for 4 people, and had the most amazing time.

This company is exceptional - I was nervous about using a foreign travel company, but once I started corresponding with Emily, everything quickly fell into place - despite me sending about 20 emails over the course of 4-5 months to tweak different parts of our tours.
Emily was so organised, the day tours and travel arrangements all worked without a hitch. They will also send you a letter to assist with your China visas. We used We Chat in China to communicate with the Guides, who were all brilliant.

No hesitation in recommending this company. (Note they trade as Xi'an Marco Polo International Travel Service).

    Best Way to Experience China
In May 2019, I traveled on the 9-Day tour that visited Beijing, Xi'an, Guilin and Yangshuo. It was nothing short of an unforgettable experience. This was my first time in China and I was the only solo traveler in my group. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and shed many insights into the daily lives of the locals and they had an abundance of stories and facts that kept the group engaged and learning at all times. My group consisted of 14-people and so it was a small enough group that we were all able to get to know each-other over the course of the tour.

The agenda contains all of the necessary destinations for tourists (The Great Wall, Terracotta Army, Elephant Trunk Hill, etc.) as well as many unique places and experiences (visit with a local family, home-cooked meal, etc.) that you would most likely not be able to partake in normally. The guides are very helpful in this regard as they will give you recommendations on places to go, things to do, and where to eat. Another feature that I liked was the ability to add days on either end of the tour. I added one day onto the beginning so I had two free days to be so

Lastly I would like to acknowledge the customer service of TCG; simply put, they are amazing. During the trip, I had multiple problems ranging from my luggage lock's combination being reset on accident to my return flights being cancelled, which caused me to have to arrange for a hotel in Beijing for a night before I flew home. They were able to assist me with all of these problems while still making the trip a memorable one.

Bottom line: If you are looking for a tour company that meets/exceeds expectations while providing you with a very memorable experience in China, then look no further than Travel China Guide. They have an experienced team and very flexible tours to choose from. I would highly recommend this TCG to anyone traveling to China for the first time as well as anyone who has been but wants to experience China on a more personal level. Less

A tour of China has been on my bucket…
A tour of China has been on my bucket list for years, and I did extensive research before signing up with Travel China Guide Tours, and they didn't disappoint. From the very beginning Wendy was very helpful and understanding in answering my multitude of questions. When a problem arose (not China Guide Tours' fault) they resolved to to our satisfaction. Most of our original tour group did not go on to Chengdu to see the pandas, so my son and I were the only two, but China Guide Tours provided us with our personal guide who could customize the tour to our likes. All of the guides, especially Selina in Beijing, were knowledgeable and attuned to the needs of the group. The hotels were all centrally located and first-class with bountiful buffet breakfasts. The excellent restaurants allowed us to sample Chinese food specially ordered taking into account group preferences and dietary needs. All in all, it was a memorable trip.
