My wife and I just completed our first trip to China. We visited Beijing., Xi’an, Shanghai and Guilin. I would like to recognize one of our guides in particular,Lily Tao, our guide in Guilin. Lily is an exceptional guide and and an absolutely wonderful person. She is informative, knowledgeable, supportive, sensitive to her client’s needs, and there are no limits on what she is prepared to do to make her clients experience, rewarding and memorable. I cannot recommend her highly enough. We are grateful for her guidance, attention to detail, and devotion to providing the best possible experience tailored to the needs and desires of her client. I have already recommended Lily to other members of my family and consider it and honor to be able to write this review.

Recently, my family used Travel China Guide to organise our trip to Beijing and Xian. Fantastic Beijing Tour with Rocky — Highly Recommended!

I had an amazing experience on this tour, and a big part of it was thanks to our guide, Rocky. From the very beginning, he was punctual, organised, and welcoming. His explanations of the Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Lama Temple, and the Hutongs were clear, engaging, and filled with fascinating insights.

Rocky was extremely attentive and thoughtful throughout the day. He guided us smoothly through the crowds, checked in on our comfort, and even helped us take wonderful photos at all the best spots — he really knows the good angles! The entire tour felt relaxed and enjoyable.

The van was clean, spacious, and comfortable, making the journey between locations very pleasant. With Rocky’s great sense of humour, patience, and genuine passion for Beijing’s culture, the whole experience was not only informative but also truly enjoyable.

This was our second time touring China with TravelChinaGuide and we are happy that we did. We really enjoyed having Ryan as our tour guide. My boyfriend and I went to China on our private tour for 14 days. We found November to be a perfect time, with cool but clear days and very little crowds at most attractions. As our tour was private, we had an assigned travel agent who could help us make specific changes to the itinerary.

Ms Emily Xin was our tour agent and she was amazing. From when we first reached out to when we were on the tour, she was quick to respond to any of our queries or changes we requested be made to our trip. She also gave us consistent updates on the booking process of the trip. When we requested to change the round trip cable car at the Great to a chair list up and toboggan slide down Ms Xin immediately made the change. The week before we left, Ms Xin once again reached out to provide us our full itinerary in a printable document which also included all contacts for our guides.

We had four guides over our trip, one for each city. In Beijing Selina was our guide. Selina was one of our favourite guides, perfectly balancing giving information while letting us enjoy the attractions. She had lot of historical and cultural knowledge on all sites we visited. She also gave us good recommendations for places to eat. When we first arrived, Selina helped us set up a metro pass in Alipay. This fundamentally changed our trip allowing us to easily navigate the train system with ease. While we likely would have eventually worked it out on our own, Selina's quick intervention meant we were able to enjoy Beijing to its fullest.

Our second guide was Roger who showed us around Xi'an. Roger had an incredible amount of knowledge. He was able to answer every question we had and provide us with information that we wouldn't have ever thought to ask. At times the onslaught of information could feel a bit exhausting and more like a university lecture than a tour group. However, I imagine that in a bigger group this would not pose as much of an issue.

Jason (or LJ as we called him) was our guide in Zhangjiajie. He was also one of our favourites, being absolutely amazing from start to finish. At every attraction he expertly navigated what little crowds there were and made sure to show us attractions of the beaten path. He even organised for us to visit the Huanglong Cave when we spontaneously decided to add it to our itinerary, going so far as to hand draw us a map. Zhangjiajie was spectacular, and we would highly recommend LJ as a guide for any person going there.

Ryan was our guide in Shanghai. He had very good knowledge of the history of Shanghai which we found incredibly interesting. He also timed all our stops on the tour very well giving us enough time to first hear the information and then enjoy the stop by ourselves.

Overall, this was a fantastic holiday. All our hotels were in excellent locations and had comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffets did cater towards Chinese guests more than the western diet, however there are options that most would enjoy. Choosing to travel with this company was definitely the best decision. Every detail was managed for us. Ms Xin and all the guides were so helpful and attentive towards us, and it truly made for a magical holiday. Would absolutely recommend this tour and the company to anyone looking to enjoy China.

This is the second time I used Travel China Guide for my 17-day Yunnan tour starting from Chongqing, Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-la. Kina was my contact, she was always there and very attentive to my needs and requirements. From train/flight tickets to hotel arrangements, she organized them impeccably, keeping me well updated. The different guides and drivers all along the various stopovers (especially driver Yang who accompanied me all the way from Dali, Lijiang to Shangri-la) are polite, knowledgeable and friendly. Believe me, it's a memorable experience and I will not hesitate to use their services again.

Had a fabulous day on this tour. Super easy for solo travelers, guide Lily picked me up at my hotel and we then stopped at two additional hotels. Group size about 10-12 people. Lily had a mic in the vehicle and her English was great. She was an excellent tour guide, offering lots of great information about Xi'an and Chinese history. We stopped first at the Terracotta Warriors, which was incredible. Prepare for massive crowds, although on our day it was very manageable and we could get next to the rail. Stopped at multiple pits, then went to a great lunch. After lunch we saw the Goose Pagoda, absolutely great gardens and peaceful. We then went to the city wall for great views. Finally we ended at the Muslim Quarter. This was a long day but we'll worth it and I had a wonderful time with Lily and the group! Would do again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour of some of Beijing's key landmarks today. Starting at 8am allowed us to beat the crowds and have a peaceful visit to the serene Temple of Heaven. Our knowledgeable guide, Helen, provided excellent historical context that enhanced our understanding of this iconic site.

The next stop at the Summer Palace was a highlight. We were glad we opted for the longer walking route through the stunning Long Gallery, which Helen guided us through expertly, bringing the palace's history to life.

Exploring the charming Hutong neighborhood by rickshaw was a wonderful was both informative and engaging.

Throughout the day, Helen's passion for sharing Beijing's rich cultural heritage was evident. Her warm and personable guiding style ensured we felt welcome and comfortable. We can wholeheartedly recommend this private tour as a wonderful way to see the tour’s sights with an exceptional guide.

Our Tour Guide Liz was the Best She’s Professional, knowledgeable, funny and very helpful . she went above and beyond she showed us everything we need to see and experience.

An Unforgettable Experience in China!

Our trip to Tianmen Mountain, Yungjiajie Glass Bridge, 72 Wonders, and Zhangjiajie Rain Forest was absolutely breathtaking, and a huge part of that magic was thanks to our amazing tour guide. Liz was incredibly sweet, patient, and knowledgeable, and you could truly feel how much she loves sharing the beauty and history of her country.

From navigating the glass bridge to explaining the stories behind the Avatar Mountains, she knew every detail, every shortcut, and every perfect photo spot. She made us feel safe, welcomed, and genuinely cared for the entire time.

The guide was Rocky. Amazing trip, amazing everything, highly recommend. Very professional, good speaking guide. It was deep dive into history, interesting topics to talk, excellent experience. Must have to have a look on china, its culture and history.

During the preparation of the trip, I was in contact with Kina Lu, who turned out to be exceptional in assisting me: she suggested booking an early check-in at the hotel since I would be arriving in Beijing at 5 a.m., and this allowed me to handle the jet lag smoothly. She also provided me with all the information I needed to get around in China.

We had a great tour with Celine to visit the Terracotta Warriors Museum, followed by the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and the Xi’an City Wall. Throughout the tour, Celine shared a lot of fascinating history about China and the city of Xi’an. We really enjoyed all the information and appreciated the time we spent at each place.

It was a long day, but Celine made it pass quickly with her knowledge and enthusiasm. Also, for those who don’t enjoy shopping stops—this tour has none, which we really appreciated.

I visited Beijing for 4.5 days with my parents in November 2025 with Kevin Han as our guide. Kevin was excellent as a guide, very knowledgable about Chinese history and culture, providing brilliant story telling and commentary about all the places we visited. The tour was very comprehensive, where we covered the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple, Summer Palace, Gong Mansion, Badaling Great Wall, Changling Tomb and Beijing Zoo. We also had a private driver as part of the tour who transported us between locations with much convenience.

I did the 3 day Guilin tour, with this day tour included. Our guide, Monica, spoke excellent English and was very proactive in explaining the history and culture of Guilin to us. The tour company also catered well to our dietary requirements, which I appreciated. They also organised good quality hotels and a driver for us. The Li river cruise was also of high quality, and the scenery was beautiful. No negative experiences.

It was one long day, yet our lovely guide Liz had the energy and stamina to keep us all going! Even after 999 steps she kept us motivated and going. Her knowledge of the area and its history is also fantastic! I would recommend this tour to EVERYONE!

The 6 of us just completed a fantastic 12-day Beijing, X'ian, Guilin, and Zhangjiajie tour organized by our Travel Consultant, Kina Lu. Our 2 days visit to Xi’an was a great experience and full of history. We visited the Terracotta Warriors and Horse Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the City Wall and Muslin Street. All admissions were included.
The restaurants and food that was recommended was also fantastic. Our guide was wonderful, she has lots of experience and knowledge about the history of Xi’an. She is a great guide and provided us a wonderful experience. Thank you for that.

Helen is such a warm personality and highly motivated and funny guide (very recommendable!), She showed us every detail in the region and she gave us such valuable informations. I truly enjoyed with her my day trip to the Forbidden city, Tiananmen square and the Great Wall of China. This is my 3rd trip organised by Amy Jian from TravelChinaGuide. Amy is a very competent n professional travel consultant who is not only knowledgeable but a caring travel consultant. Caring because even during our trip, she even checks up on us. My recent 9 days tour of Kunming, Dali and Lijiang for a group of 10 ppl were very well planned according to our request right up to the hotels, tour guides n even the drivers were well selected by her. We were overwhelmed by the breathtaking view of the Yulong snow mountain n the rapids at the tiger leaping gorge. Besides the scenery, we were able to experience the different ethnic minority cultures in these 3 different cities and even travel back in time of our forefathers n experienced their native ways of living at Shaxi n Shuhe Ancient Towns. Thanks to Amy’s well planned itinerary, we were able to enjoy these spectacular sites. Looking forward to our future holidays with TravelChinaGuide. Once again thank you Amy for everything.

It was an amazing trip. The sceneries were surreal. Our tour guide Ivy was very knowledgeable and very caring. The daily itinerary was well planned. We covered the Avatar mountains, Glass bridge, Tianmen Cave etc, with some downtime for us to enjoy the beautiful city by ourselves in the evening. Ivy also arranged the most delicious minority tujia lunches. She also helped us booked the foot massages and musical performances in the evening. She took us to the high-speed train station and made sure we knew where to check in. I will definitely visit Zhangjiajie again and hope to see Ivy again.

Beijing and Xian were truly memorable. I especially liked Xian. because of our amazing tour guide Carol. She is very knowledgeable and super caring. She took us to the terracotta warrior museum and gave us a detailed explanation of the history. I got to make my terracotta warrior. The next day she took us to the city park and we practiced taichi with the master. She arranged the most delicious lunches with local flavors. I would like to visit Xi’an again and hope to see Carol again.

Our tour was specifically created visiting Xi’an, Guilin and the Longsheng rice terraces together with travel from Beijing to Xi’an and Guilin to Hong Kong. We were assigned a tour consultant - Amy Jian who was very helpful and efficient in arranging the tour. The tours were well organised with knowledgeable and friendly guides and no hidden surprises in terms of costs. At the main attractions, in particular the terracotta warriors, the crowds were at times almost overwhelming. Overall an enjoyable and informative trip

I had an awesome day on this tour with Rita. She was full of enthusiasm, knowledge and humour to help make the trip memorable. We visited the Terracotta Army, and then sites within Xi'an itself including Wild Goose Pagoda and the city walls. She had great insight into many aspects of the places we visited and she has also visited my home country which was good as she had an understanding of me and where I am from. Even after the tour, Rita was very helpful and offered her advice if needed. This was perfect as I had been suffering with back pain and she was able to recommend me an acupuncture specialist and arrange me an appointment on the same day. Rita is a credit to the company she works for and a great promoter of China as a whole. Thanks!

A 1 day trip to Chengdu. Our tour guide Charles was excellent. He showed us the beautiful City of Chengdu. Our first stop was the Panda Research Center. It was a lot of fun seeing so many Giant Panda’s, some sleeping perched high in the trees, others eating and being playful. Next, we had an authentic Sichuan lunch, Charles ordered for us, everything was delicious, especially the beef, pork and vegetable dishes. Our next stop was Kuanzhai Alley, a lively area. We strolled the alleyway and enjoyed the shops, and beautiful ancient architectural scenery. Charles was an excellent tour guide he explained all the sights, he’s very knowledgeable and most of all very nice and friendly. I would highly recommend his tour.

The Juyongguan section of the great wall has some of the best views I have seen, but also some of the hardest stairs I have seen in my life. Barry was an amazing guide, extremely professional, communicative, and had all the information you could ask for on the wall. I would highly recommend Barry as a guide anywhere in Beijing.
