The tour was well organized and Wendy was able to make some changes based on my preferences. She always replied to me promptly and when I was in China she was able to answer my questions quickly. Payment was easy. The tour guides in every city were all excellent as well as the drivers. One of the trips with train involved hard sleeper train which I didn’t enjoy as soft sleeper train was not available. Otherwise we had a blast

My trip through Travel China Guide was excellent. How refreshing it was- not to have to worry about details: transportation to a venue, where to eat, hotel selection and checking in, and city to city transfers. Excellent Tour and Vacation. Have been delayed in responding as it has been very busy and a bit stressful since we have returned. But the tour was so good that we eventually knew that we would find the time to respond. Our trip was unusual as I ended up taking a big fall in Thimphu on the first day in Bhutan. Our guide and driver were the best you could possibly have under the circumstances. I was brought to the emergency room of the largest hospital in Bhutan and was given such excellent care that our trip continued the next day as planned. HB tours is an excellent tour company and our guide Ram and our driver Poob were the absolute best. We did not know how to properly thank them so we took your recommended gratuity and doubled it. Because of my fall, they recommended that I not attempt Tigers Nest (but my wife did go). They arranged for me to rent a helicopter (one of only two in Bhutan available at the time) and we saw Tigers Nest up close from the air. in short, this was the second outstanding tour from Travel China Guide Tours and you definitely be used again on our planned revisit to China as well as other destinations in Asia. Went on the full day tour. Had an exceptional guide Celine who was fluent with English and managed to keep us entertained with her knowledge on the history of Xi’an and the discovery of the Terracotta Army. Fortunately for us, the tour happened on the day after the Labor Day holidays so it wasn’t too crowded.

Had the best full day tour today with our guide - Helen. We started at Tiannen Square, then onto Forbidden City, followed by a visit to the Jade factory, buffet lunch, then on to the Great Wall of China. We concluded our day with a Tea Ceremony before driving back to Beijing. Everything about this tour was amazing! Our bus driver was fantastic and vehicle was well equipped with air con and USB charging units, plus complimentary water. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking this tour, as it is only small group, with great guide.

It was an amazing experience! Everything was wonderful! The hotels were all very nice, the guides were all very knowledgeable, and all the logistics went smoothly. We particularly appreciated the guides in Jaipur (Ganesh) and Agra (Ali), who were very informative about all the history of the places we visited and knew the best places to take photos. Our driver in the north, Anand Sharma, took very good care of us and was an excellent driver. The restaurants we went to were all excellent!

The hotel in Goa turned out to be perfect! There were actually a number of restaurants right off the property that didn't show up on Google maps, and we really enjoyed our free day there. We were also glad we added a day in Mumbai. It gave us more time to explore the city.

Lily was a great tour guide, she explained everything clearly and answered the questions that were asked. The tour and the route itself were also very logical. The admission is included in the price, so dealing with the tickets yourself was not necessary. Got picked up from the hotel at 7:10 and finished the tour at around 5:30 pm. Overall, loved it!

I booked an 11 day tour for my family of 10. Amy dealt with all aspects of the booking and was excellent. Our guide Maggie got in touch the day before and we were able to plan the tour together. Maggie and the bus arrived at the hotel on time and she provided us with in-depth information during the journey.

Communication was very good overall but especially before the tour, Nicole responded to all my queries and relayed all the relevant information clearly in a timely manner.
The guides and drivers were all very professional, especially Candy in Beijing with a very pleasant way of explaining history.
The hotels were also very good especially in Beijing & Xi'an, minor issues in Shanghai but resolved very quickly.

I was extremely happy with Alain as our tour guide for our Shanghai leg. Getting to know his backstory as a youth and the events that affected him over the past few decades, was very informative. It opened my eyes and corrected a few misconceptions I had on China. Very knowledgeable on the local history and held our attention throughout our time. Added surprise, Alain was able to communicate and spoke in English or French with no effort. We hit it off extremely well as his personality and age were similar to mine. We still keep in touch....

Just on the way home from a fabulous day with Murphy (and Mr Wong driving), and had an absolutely fantastic day, touring Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. Everything was taken care of: pick- up, tickets and food. Murphy is also very knowledgeable and willing to ensure you have a great time. I really enjoyed The Forbidden City - crowds but so much history, and of course, the Wall is amazing. Visiting in the afternoon worked well with not many people around. It’s a long day, (for me 7am- 7pm) but well worth the time. The tour also included a visit to a Jade museum and a tea house as well, but no pressure to buy anything and learning more about the jade carving and sampling the tea was interesting to me. This was a no fuss, well organised tour and the people you meet on it are great too! We all shared best places to eat and shop??. I totally recommend.

We had a fantastic one-day tour of Xi’an, made special by our excellent guide, Carol. She was very knowledgeable and brought to life the city’s historical importance. Xi’an sits at the heart of Chinese civilisation, having served as the capital for multiple dynasties and as the starting point of the Silk Road. We learned an enormous amount throughout the day.

The Terracotta Warriors were of course the highlight, absolutely breathtaking and even more impressive than expected. But the rest of the itinerary was equally rewarding: the pagoda, the ancient city wall, and the vibrant Muslim Quarter.

Everything was seamlessly organised, with a comfortable private car and a very good driver. The whole day ran smoothly, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy each stop.

Our experience in Zhangjiajie was truly unforgettable, and that’s in large part thanks to our incredible guide, Yolin. From the very start, she went above and beyond to make sure every moment of our trip was seamless and special.

She expertly adjusted our schedule so we could beat the crowds, even making our difficult request to change our tickets to an earlier time. Thanks to her planning and local knowledge, we were able to enjoy the breathtaking scenery at its absolute best. She skillfully guided us through changing weather conditions and busy areas, always finding the perfect spots for viewing and photos.

One of the highlights was when she took us to a “secret” location for a private view of the mountains—we had the entire place to ourselves, which felt almost impossible in such a popular destination. It was a magical experience we’ll never forget. On top of all that, when our son accidentally left his phone on the train, she stepped in immediately and helped us recover it. Her dedication, resourcefulness, and genuine care made all the difference.

She is, without a doubt, the best guide we could have hoped for. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie!

Our two guides Jimmy and Mia were super helpful and helped the whole group very well to navigate the complexity of two national parks to get the best views possible (shuttle buses, escalators, cable cars). Crowds and queues can be a bit of an issue, but the views are more than worth it and no wonder these sites are popular! Tianmen Mountain, the Glass Bridge and Avatar Mountain are incredible to see with your own eyes and almost mystical!

Have not gone on the tour yet but wanted to leave a review about how excellent our travel consultant Emily Xin was in arranging this tour for us. Emily also helped us organize a private week long tour after this one! We are very thankful for her expertise. She was able to guide us through the many questions we had and helped us with additional requests such as room and train upgrades, additional hotel stays, and add on activities. For our private tour, we provided Emily with a list of regions we wanted to visit (zhangjiajie, Guilin, Yangshuo) and she crafted it into an excellent itinerary with some extra ideas, activities, and hotel stays we hadn’t thought of before.
