We are a family of 11 from Singapore, very pleased and happy with the service of our guide Candy. She is very patient, friendly, has good knowledge of all the tourist places. We had a great day with our tour guide Helen! My cousin and I only had a short time in Beijing during a multi-city China trip and chose the tour to see the main sights efficiently. Although Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City were crowded with visitors, Helen got us through efficiently while sharing some of the key history. Our afternoon on the Great Wall was perfect and Helen was able to navigate the different needs of our group so everyone had a great time. A wonderful day!

We were guided by Helen and it was such an amazing tour. Helen is informative, patient and all over a nice experience. Her English, service and friendly behavior is more than we could ask for.

She took us to the forbidden city with a very detalied guided tour, and to the Great Chinese Wall and gave us plenty of free time and good guidance.

We took this tour in April 2025. One the first day, our tour was lead by Lindsay. She is very good and experience ! She came a day early to our hotel Pullman to make sure we would meet the next morning. She is very informative to what the next step we would do and see. She made sure we are waiting in a good spot while she is taking care of the tickets especially when we were in the long wait to go down with the cable cart. She is very helpful and happy to take fotos. She speaks English well and has a pleasant and attentive personality. We did a great day with her.

Our first day was made truly special by our guide, Helen, who was incredibly kind and charismatic. We had an enriching experience visiting the Temple of Heaven, the Lama Temple, the Summer Palace, and the Hutongs.

On our second day, our guide was Lisa, and we explored the Summer Palace and the magnificent Great Wall. We faced an unexpected issue with our passports, and Lisa was an absolute lifesaver, offering all the help she possibly could.

Both Helen and Lisa were outstanding guides, full of valuable information.

We had an amazing experience on our tour throughout China. We were treated with the utmost care and respect. Every effort was made for us to feel safe and comfortable. Our guides Kitty in Beijing and Carol in Xi’an were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. They took time to make sure that we not only understood the historical significance of the places we visited but also knew cultural and every day implications and ideas held by the people of China. We are a large family of 6 and every effort was made for our accommodations to be welcoming and comfortable for us. The trip is amazing.Our tour guide Celine made it extra special. She was there all the time attending our need and interest. We didn’t feel like we were in a foreign country and city. We felt like we were at home with our dear friend and family Celine. She is on call the whole time. She thought through everything for us ahead of time. She speaks perfect English and is very easy to understand. She is so passionate about her job. It is not just fulfilling her duty. She explains things so vividly to help us engage in the wonderful history and culture. We love Celine and would want her to be our tour guide for the whole time while we are in China next time.

The experience was great. Lily did an amazing job of explaining everything and making sure everyone in the group was included. Her English was great, and much better than other tour guides I have had in China. Additionally, she made the experience more fun, by allowing us the freedom to engage in activities along the way without feeling rushed.

Our tour guide, Sophie, took us around Shanghai. We visited the Shanghai Museum, the Bund, did a river cruise. In the afternoon, we visited the Jade Buddha, which was a very big and interesting temple. Afterwards, we visited Tianzifang, which is the French quarter. This was a very lively area with lots of art shops and boutiques. Sophie also helped us with souvenirs and navigating the food choices. All in all, it was a great day, which we enjoyed a lot. In one day, we were able to get a very good sense of Shanghai thanks to Sophie Lee. Highly recommend her and Travel China Guide.

Experiencing the heatwave in Beijing and humongous crowd of visitors on our day trip with an amazing guide , Ms Helen to the temple of heaven , summer palace and lama temple. Without her lead I doubt I am able to enjoy the challenge , she was so good and truly enjoy the much conversation with her . She always put our safety first and her choice for the lunch stop was perfect for me.

The trip was wonderful! As a senior woman traveling alone I could not have asked for a better trip. Everything was well organized and the guides were so friendly and knowledgeable. Arriving in China by myself I was nervous but the tour guide was waiting for me at arrivals at the airport, which right away put me at ease. In Chongquing , I was the only person arriving on that particular day. I had a guide and driver to myself that day. I believe the tour guide went way above what was required. He introduced me to some of the history of the city, and showed me the market area. He answered my many questions about the city and was so pleasant and concerned that I should not become too tired. Every tour guide treated us so well. I often felt like I had a member of my family with me because of the concern of the tour guides. When taking the bullet train, I was taken right to the car I was traveling in! When I arrived in Shanghai my new guide was there waiting for me. The five star hotels were very comfortable. The different sites we visited were interesting. I traveled in a group which was 18 when we started on the last days was only 9 because the others were visiting other cities. It was a great group of people, everyone arrived on time whenever a meeting time was set. At lunch we just enjoyed each other's company. This was my first visit to China and I was amazed at what a first world country with an rich history. Thank you for organizing this trip, I have memories for many years to come.

We did this day trip as part of a longer 11 day tour and were lucky to have Rocky as a guide. We have travelled a lot and Rocky must rate as one of the best, he is informative, attentive, efficient and his command of English is excellent. He uses his own camera to take group, individual and scenic photos which are downloaded into your own phones at the end of the day and really makes for a wonderful tour. Good on ya Rocky!

It was an enjoyable trip that began with a visit to Tiananmen Square. Helen, our tour guide, brought us to the entrance with the shortest queue, which helped us save time. We then explored the Forbidden City, where she led a well-organized tour and pointed out some beautiful, photogenic spots for us to capture great memories.

The trip concluded with a visit to the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu. Helen helped each of us take wonderful individual photos with stunning views of the Wall in the background.

She articulate well and provided valuable insights into the historical significance of each site, which made the experience even more meaningful.

All the spots were fantastic. To save yourself the time of finding your way around the parks, I highly recommend this tour.

The pick-ups were very punctual on both days, and the organization was well-organized.

We had different tour guides on both days (Tracy & Kaia). We were extremely satisfied with both. Both had a wealth of background knowledge about the various spots, without going overboard. I had worked with Amy, one of the agents at Travel China Guide, to arrange a private tour for a group of 8 travellers, covering Nanchang-Lushan-Jingdezhen-Nanchang.

There were several iterations (all from our end!) due to changing preferences and circumstances (we were participating in a dragon boat event at Nanchang prior to our private tour). Throughout the process, Amy was exceptionally patient, responsive and professional. She proposed several thoughtful itineraries, which helped us eventually enjoy the UNESCO site of Lushan as well as Jingdezhen (UNESCO listing pending) meaningfully.

Our family of 4 from the United States had a private tour with Roger Yan and driver, Dong in Xi’an China through Travel China Guide in June 2025. We visited the Terracotta Warriors, Xi’an City Wall, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, and the Muslim Bazaar per our request. All these sites were visited in 1 day. Dong and Roger also provided transportation from the train station to the hotel and hotel back to the train station the day before and after the tour. All the pick-ups/drop offs were seamless and on time. Roger was knowledgeable and very thorough in his explanations about the history and cultural significance at each site. He was also our family photographer and got some great pics! The day of the tour was very hot but adequate water was provided and the van air conditioned and comfortable. Several opportunities to use restrooms and walk through shops were provided throughout the day.

Roger also made himself available to be contacted through the “WeChat” app and helped us set up “Alipay” (highly recommended) when using our credit card outside the app did not work. We are adventurous and wanted to explore on our own in the evenings and Roger was able to offer recommendations for authentic Chinese dining experiences! Roger was open to all our questions about China and ultimately shared a cross cultural exchange. Our family highly recommends touring with Roger Yan and Travel China Guide! We enjoyed the private Zhangjiajie tour with our outstanding tour guide, LJ. We could feel his enthusiasm and his love for the area. The tour was conducted at a good pace allowing for extra time and flexibility. The scenery in the many attractions was breathtaking. LJ made sure our needs were attended to including all our delicious meals, foot massage, hotel stays, comfort, etc. Thank you, LJ and TCG for a most memorable experience in Zhangjiajie.

Our trip to China was a very memorable experience - our teens thoroughly enjoyed the trip with a well planned itinerary . Our guides Kevin in Beijing was a kind helpful man who was with us throughout and guides carol in Xian was a thorough professional. We dint have to ask for anything , she gave us a lot of information even wrote down things in Chinese so it can help us - she had thorough knowledge and explained very well . Guide Bella in chengdu was wonderful as well very pleasing and very clear diction and she was also very helpful and sweet - could have gotten a better guide at shangai that would have made our experience wholesome but overall it was an amazing holiday -very good choice of hotels and our van was very comfortable to travel the guides were very prompt for pickup and drop everything went on so smoothly — worth the money and we came back home with a feeling that we spent some of our best times in China .

This was an amazing tour hosted by our guide, Rita. It gave me a decent insight into some of the big things to see in Xi’An.

I booked the tour about two weeks ago and completed it today. Communication between the tour company and Rita with myself was excellent. Pickup was on time as described, and the bus was air conditioned.

We started in the morning with a drive to the Terracotta warriors. During the drive, Rita gave us a lot of insight and historical knowledge of the city (Xi’An). Once we arrived, Rita was very organized and timely in showing us the different areas & rooms containing the statues and historical artifices. Explanations were provided at each spot from Rita, then free time to roam and take pictures based on the size of the room/building.

Afterwards we had lunch although it seemed like a bit of a touristy place to eat. The food was decent and we were given the option to eat elsewhere if we wanted. Everyone in the group just ate there though.

Then we drove back to the city and went to the Big Goose Pagoda which was honestly nicer than the Forbidden City in Beijing. More peaceful & beautiful, but also less crowded.

Later we went to the city wall but I stayed inside due to the heat. The wall was ok, but you’re on the top and it’s a far walk to the towers so there’s not a lot to see.

Overall, I’d recommend the tour and make sure to ask for Rita!

My tour of Chengdu was one of the best experiences I had during my visit to China. Yuki, my tour guide, was exceptional—knowledgeable, warm, funny, and fluent in English. I feel incredibly fortunate to have met her and now consider her a friend.

In just one day, we explored so much: the Giant Panda Breeding and Research Base, the Broad and Narrow Alleys, the Jinsha Site Museum, and the beautiful People’s Park. We even enjoyed a delicious lunch together. Yuki provided fascinating insights throughout, making every stop even more meaningful.

I would love to return to Chengdu and take another tour with Yuki to explore the places we couldn’t fit in the first time. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

This review is about the Xi’an portion of our private China tour. Our tour guide in Xian was Tracy. We first visited the Terracotta Army site. We then stopped by a workshop and made our own clay statues. After getting back in town, we visited the Great Tang All Day Mall, which is a nice pedestrian area in traditional style. Tracy then took us to the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, which was a beautiful temple. She asked us if we want to attend the Tang Dynasty Show in the evening. We were glad we took her suggestion and went, it was a beautiful show. We didn’t like the dumplings, which were dry but this is a matter of taste. I should mention our driver Mr. Wen was always there for us, he picked us up from the theater and took us back to the hotel. Next day, we visited the city wall and the Muslim quarter, which was also very interesting area. Tracy was very helpful and patient throughout, she taught us more history of China, especially the Tang dynasty. We were very happy with our tour with Travel China Guide and Tracy. Everything was perfect and Tracy was a great guide to see Xi’an with.

We had such an amazing time with our tour guide Helen, Helen was so good at giving us free time to explore the locations at our own pace as well as teaching us the history of China.

The first day we had a big group and Helen was so good with us making sure no one got lost! She took her time explaining each location and she really was wonderful.

The second day was just the two of us and Helen organised a private driver to pick us up. She adapted to the smaller group so well and really took care of us.

This was the best tour that we've had so far! Lily was outstandingly organised. We started out earlier than planned in order to miss the crowds. The entire tour was well planned and well communicated to ensure that we maximised every minute of the day. From the terracotta army, to the Wild Goose Pagoda, a yummy lunch and then a great visit to the city walls. Lily gave us lots of wonderful historical information and knew the perfect spots to take photos. Lily also helped us find an evening Tang show for the following night. All in all, a great stay in Xi'an, largely due to this tour and our wonderful guide.

Roger was very accommodating as our hotel pick up site changed the night before tour. He helped confirm new hotel pick up . He was very knowledgeable with all of Xi’an ‘s history, Terra Cotta Soldiers, Goose Pagoda and Xi’an city wall tour . He even kept our 13 year old boys interested ! Everything went smoothly at ticket entrances and not too crowded ! Great weather !

This review is about the Beijing portion of our private China tour. Our tour guide in Beijing was Candy. She and the driver were both great, very considerate and helpful. We visited the Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Yonghe Temple, Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall and the Summer Palace. We learned about the history of China and background about the places we visited and historical figures that lived here. All in all, it was a great experience, we loved it. We learned a lot from Candy. Candy also booked us tickets for the acrobatic show in the Red Theater, which was quite spectacular.

We were group of 10 from US and had worked with Wendy for more than a year in finalizing the 23 days, 5 cities and Yangtze cruise. Wendy was excellent with full of knowledge and experience that help us to have the best trip ever. All tour guides in each city are mastered in history and detail that were proudly displayed in their voices. We are very glad that we choose Travel China Guide and personally Wendy. They are the reasons for us already decided to come back.

TCG planned our 3 day private Huangshan tour. We were met at the train station by our guide, April and driver, Mr Huang. We visited Hongcun Village and the Tunxi Old Street. The highlight of the trip was the cable car ride to the mountain followed by a strenuous hike to Xihai on the second day. We enjoyed the spectacular views of Mt Huangshan along the way. April was an outstanding guide. She was friendly, caring and very knowledgeable. She shared many interesting stories and helped us to appreciate the history and culture of the area. We were disappointed that we did not see sunrise on the third day as it was raining. Thank you, April and Mr Huang, for this memorable experience in Mt Huangshan.
