Enchanting Guatemala

Welcome to Guatemala! When your flight arrives at Guatemala City International Airport, our driver and the guide will be waiting for you at the exit and then transfer you to the hotel in Antigua, taking about 50 minutes.

In the morning the guide will pick you up at the hotel and then start the Antigua walking tour. We'll visit the crucial historical sites from colonial period including the convent of Capuchinas, one of the masterpieces of the monastery in 18th century, and La Merced Monastery, a baroque church. We'll then go to Plaza Mayor or Central Park. After, move on to visit Palace of the Real Ayuntamiento, Palace of the Captains General, Cathedral and Jade Factory. After, have lunch in an exquisite restaurant. Afternoon, we are going to visit the Choco Museum to learn how to make chocolate. After the trip, the guide will send you back to the hotel for rest.

The guide and the driver will pick you up to visit the active Pacaya Volcano by car, taking 1h10min from the hotel. Around the volcano is the forest and rocks. We will also see the lagoon and the spectacular scenery of other three volcanos, Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. You will feel like standing on the moon surface. Put on the high-qualified hiking boots, you can easily climb up to Pacaya Volcano. After the tour, transfer you back to the hotel.

Today we are going to visit Iximche, the so-called Land of Corn. The journey takes 1h10min by car. Iximche is the first capital of Guatemala and the last Maya city. The architectures here have pyramidal temples, palaces and two courts where many ceremonies were held. Afterwards, drive to Chichicastenango's market with over 100 years' history, taking 1h40min. The market is the biggest market in Central America and keeps open on Thursdays and Sundays. Then visit the mysterious and ancient Church of Santo Tomas, a Catholic church. After the visit, drive to Panajachel, the entrance to Lake Atitlan, taking 1h15min. Check in a local hotel upon arrival.

Today the driver and the guide will pick you up from the hotel to Panajachel Port, and then the guide will accompany you to take a boat to the village San Juan la Laguna where you can explore the culture and art of Naif paintings in the town. Then go to the village of Santiago and walk on the main street with oil painting galleries. These paintings show the busy markets here and the lifestyle of the highlands. After, we will return to Panajachel Port by boat, and then drive back to the hotel to rest.

After breakfast, the guide and the driver will pick you up and head to Lake Atitlan to enjoy kayaking on the lake. Next, we'll drive about 2h30min back to Guatemala City. Tonight, stay overnight in the hotel in Guatemala City.

Today, your Guatemala 7 days trip ends. After having breakfast, our driver will transfer you to Guatemala City International Airport according to your flight time. Wish you a pleasant trip home!
