One of our friend who is working in Hangzhou told me that the best time to visit Hangzhou is in late September and early October, for the water lily in the West Lake will be in full blossom at that time. So we planned a tour to Hangzhou to enjoy the charming scenery in person. We took many photos with the blossoming lotus as well as the lotus in buds in the West Lake. There are two sayings about the ten famous sceneries in the West Lake. I think the first one is more attracting. They are Twin peaks piercing the clouds; Spring dawn in Su Causeway; Lotus in the breeze at crooked courtyard/Lotus Stirred by Breeze in Quyuan Garden; Viewing fish at flowers Pond; Three pools mirroring the moon; Late night bell at the Nanping Hill; Autumn moon on calm lake; the sunset at Leifeng Pagoda/Leifeng Silhouette against the sunset; Orioles singing in the willows and Melting snow at the broken bridge. If you are planing a tour to southern China, we highly recommend Hangzhou as your destination.
