We visited Xi''an with a tour and it was wonderful and informative but it was difficult to see things and we would have like to visit longer everywher we went. Xi''an is a destination we would like to visit once again.

Apartment from the Terracotta Soldiers Museum, we were impressed with the city wall in xi''an, which is famous for being the most intact in China. You can actually rent bicycles and ride around the top. We didn''t get to do that due to the limited time allocated. Also, there is a large market place that we missed. I never did find scorpions on a stick. That was the one thing I wanted to try and didn''t find... (BUT..... would I have been able to actually take a bite??? hmmmmm) It would have been fun to walk around there and sorted out some good souvenirs.

We didn''t get an opportunity to visit the tomb mounds and we felt it would have been interesting. On our return we will go on our own and perhaps join a tour for something after we get there....

Great Wall... WOW... a must see. Could have used another hour there in my opinion... The constant funneling toward shopping is overplayed. Its painfully obvious they want you to spend money... which is fine... but gives the trip too much of a commercial slant in my opinion. The hotels are all excellent with convenient locations and luxurious standard. Could have used a couple of 3 hr. downtime breaks every 3 days or so. Personal time for napping, reading, excercise etc.The trip could have used more cultural experience...rubbing shoulders with nationals. A little Tai Chi lesson.....and/or a little bike ride. These could have been fun.
