 Brief Introduction of Guyana
Guyana lies in the north of South America. It borders Venezuela on the northwest, Brazil on the south, Suriname on the east and the Atlantic on the northeast. With a climate of tropical rain forest, the annual rainfall there is from 1500 to 2000 millimeters. The yearly average temperature is about 24ºC to 32 ºC.

Since the ninth century, Indians have inhabited on this land. In 15th century, the Spaniards invaded this region. In 17th to 18th century, Guyana area was conquered by Holland. In 1814, Holland transferred Guyana to Britain. Then, Guyana became the colony of Britain in 1831. On May 26th, 1966, Guyana declared independence.

 How to Get to the Embassy of Guyana in Beijing:
Guyana Embassy is located on Xiu Shui Dong Jie (Xiushui Street East), near to Jianguomen Gate. So, you may choose the bus routes towards these directions. The Fang Cao Di bus stop, which neighbors on the Embassy of Guyana, can be reached by Buses No. 28, 43, 120, and 126. Additionally, you may take a bus to get off near Jianguomen Gate. The buses routes via Jianguomen include 434, 39, 638, 637, 25, 122, 457, 750, 800 and 52.


 Bilateral Relationship between Guyana and China:
In November, 1971, the two nations signed an agreement of setting up trade office in each other's country. In March, 1972, Chinese Trade Office in Guyana opened. On June 27th of the same year, the diplomatic relations between China and Guyana was established. On the same day, Chinese Embassy in Guyana started to work and in October, 1973, Guyana established embassy in Beijing, China. In the English-speaking Caribbean region, Guyana is the first country to found the diplomatic relations with China. Both of them share a very friendly and close communication.
