 People: In 2007, Somali has a population of about 10.4 million and Somali people account for most of the population. Sammale and Sab are the two clans and the Sammale people occupy eighty percent of the total population.

 Geography: The country covers an area of about 637,600 square kilometers (246,179 square miles) with a land area of 627,340 square kilometers (242,217 square miles) and water area of 10,320 square kilometers (3,985 square miles).
