- The Zhonghua Gate has stood in Nanjing for about more than 600 years. It's the biggest city gate of Nanjing Ancient City Wall. The City Wall is 33.5 kilometers long and over 12 meters tall. The wall was built with big bricks on the groundsill of granites. When the city wall was built, lime, tung oil and sticky rice juice were mingled to firm the bricks.
