- City God Temple, situated in the middle of West Avenue of Xian, was originally built in 1387 during the reign of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of the Ming Dynasty. It was one of the three largest City God Temples in China at that time, ruling the city gods in the northwest China, so it was also called Capital City God Temple. The temple fair of City God Temple is very prosperous. Small commodities are sold, Shanxi Opera is sung, and many people come here to pray for blessings.
