Child/Senior Policy for City Wall

1. Free of charge for children under 120cm.
2. Free of charge for seniors over 70 years old.
3. Minors between 120cm-140cm enjoy half price.

Opening Hours of the Entrances to Xi’an City Wall

South Gate (Yongning Gate): 8:00-24:00
Zhongshan Gate: 8:00-21:00
Wenchang Gate, Heping Gate, Shangde Gate, Hanguang Gate, East Gate (Changle Gate), West Gate (Anding Gate), North Gate (Anyuan Gate):
May-Oct: 8:00-19:00; Nov-Apr: 8:00-18:00

Limitation for Bike Riding

1. Children under 12 years old, seniors over 60 years old and pregnant ladies are not allowed to ride bike.
2. Children between 12 and 18 years old should be accompanied by adult guardian if wishing to ride a bike.

Child Policy for Sightseeing Battery Car

1. One adult could take one child lower than 120cm for free.
2. Children between 120cm and 140cm need to buy half-price ticket on site.

How to Book and Use

1. Book & pay online.
2. For the city wall admission ticket, you will get email confirmation with QR code, show QR code at the entrance.
3. For Bike Riding and Battery Car, you will get confirmation number, show the number to redeem tickets on the wall.
4. The ticket is only valid for the selected visiting date.

Change & Cancellation

1. Free cancellation if sending the request by email 24 hours before the designated entry time.
2. After the ticket is issued, the service fee is non-refundable.
3. Partial cancellation is not accepted, tickets in one order have to be cancelled together.
4. For changes, please cancel and rebook.

What to Expect

Xi'an City Wall is the oldest and best preserved ancient city wall in the world. It was built to resist and defend against enemy. There are a series of ancient military facilities on the Xi’an City Wall, such as drawbridge, gate towers, arrow towers, main towers, watch towers and turrets. These military facilities and the city wall constitute a complete defense system, of crucial importance for the city in ancient times.

South Gate is the most complete and time-honored city gate in Xi’an. The underground passage there allows visitors to enter the city gate and get on the City Wall with tickets.

You can rent a bicycle near the East Gate (Changle Gate), South Gate (Yongning Gate), West Gate (Anding Gate) or North Gate (Anyuan Gate) and enjoy a ride on the City Wall. Taking a sightseeing battery car on the City Wall is also a pleasant experience.

By metro:
Take metro line 2 and get off at Yongningmen Station.

By bus:
Take bus 12, 193, 208, 221, 600, 603 and get off at Inter South Gate Station.
Take bus 204, 311 and get off at South Gate Station.
Take bus 6, 11, 16, 23, 26, 29, 31, 35, 36, 40, 46, 184, 187, 203, 215, 216, 222, 239, 258, 402, 512, 605, 609, 616, 701, 800, 910 and get off at Outside South Gate Station.

Hi, does the free of charge ticket for seniors above 70 years old apply to foreign tourist as well? Or it only applies to locals? Thank you!

Is the city wall ticket valid for 1 day regardless on the number of exits and entrance?

Buying Ticket Xi'an wall

Hello, If i want to visit all gate. Should i buy all admission fee all of it (54CYN x 4 Gate )? Or i only buy one it enough to see all gate?

No, you only need to buy one ticket for 4 gates. They are connected but it needs a lot of time.

Imperial City Sightseeing Bus

Hello, do you know if the Imperial City Sightseeing Buses are running at the exact itineraries and times, and also the bus that goes to the terracotta warriors. Thanks

The sightseeing buses are currently out of service. The bus no. tourism 5 (306) runs to Terracotta Warriors; metro line 9 also runs there.
