In Shanghai there are two airports, the Hongqiao airport and Pudong airport. Hongqiao airport is mainly used for domestic flights, while Pudong airport is mainly used for international airport. But some domestic flights also land at Pudong airport. With no notice about this, we took flight from Beijing to Shanghai to connect our home forward flight back to America. After landed, we found we were at Hongqiao airport and we had to transfer to Pudong airport for our international flight. Thank goodness. The traffic did not make any trouble for us so that we could catch our flight in time. Connecting flights between two airports, at least 6 hours is needed, in case of the bad traffic or any emergency. The best way is too choose a flight landing in Pudong airport instead of Hongqiao.
