Visa Requirements of Senegal
Non-visa required from:
- Citizens from African members of the West African Monetary Union and the Economic Community of West African States;
- Citizens of Canada, Israel, Japan, Taiwan and US do not require a visa to Senegal for a 90-days stay at most.
- Citizens of China, Algeria, Norway and Iran who are holders of valid diplomatic and service/official passports are exempted from visa to enter Senegal.
- Except for Cyprus, Hungary, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia, citizens of members of the European Union do not require a visa to Senegal for a stay of less than 90 days. Application for extended stay is not allowed, but you can apply for a residence permit from the ‘Police des Etrangers' at 08:00-12:30 of every Monday to Friday.
Procedures:
1>a letter addressed to the Minister of the Interior;
2>three personal photos; photocopy of your passport and birth certificate;
3>a Subject Access Form obtained from a UK police where you last resided;
4>a medical certificate issued by a Senegalese doctor
Note: Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required to show when entry into Senegal. If you could not supply any proof, you may have to receive the vaccination at the airport by self-supported.
Procedures of applying for Senegalese visa:
- Two Application Forms with a passport photo for each
- Return ticket & invitation letter or evidence of residence (hotel);
- Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is required;
Please contact China Embassy in Senegal if Senegaleses will go to China.

Hi, I am a businessman in China with companies setup in Hong Kong and China. We have a strategic plan to establish the cashew kernel market in China via importing raw cashew from Africa. You might have aware that the cashew nut market is currently dominated by Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand but we want to break this through via using African's product to share the market. We are planning to setup a de-shelling plant in China and have plan to import from Africa for the first year 80,000 mt raw (with shell) follow by around 200,000 mt in the following year. This is a great business and I am aware that Senegal in one of the countries exporting cashew nuts. We do have a plan to source cashew nuts in different countries and Senegal is one of them. Appreciate your advice to see if we can have a dialogue with contact in Senegal otherwise we might go through the China/African Council to help us. Look forward for your advice. You are US passport holder, right? For traveling in China,you don't have to find a Senegalese. Go to apply for a China visa at the Chinese embassy.
