Hello,
I am an American citizen residing in France with a working visa (carte de sejour salarie). I will be renewing my visa next month (expires March 30) and plan to travel China for 2 weeks in May. It is probable that I don't have the new visa by then, as processing time in France can takes months. In the meantime I will be issued a 'recepisse', or temporary paper saying the new visa is processing. Usually this allows you to travel freely as long as you have the old visa with you.
However, in order to obtain the visa to travel to China, will I be asked to have a valid French visa/carte de sejour, or will the recepisse be enough?
Will I have problems obtaining the Chinese visa in Paris under these circumstances?
Many thanks for your help.

Mr.Norman replied:
Ms. Dani, you can provide the copy of your old work visa and the recepisse to apply for Chinese visa, generally speaking, US citizens are easy to get a Chinese tourist visa. Please don't worry, maybe the precedure is very simple for you.

Hello
I have a NZ passport and I live in Paris. I have a 10yr carte de sejour. I want to apply for the 12 months mulitple entry business visa, via the Paris embassy. Do you know whether there will be more delay in the visa application compared to a French national (I need the visa within 2 weeks absolute worst case)

Mr.Johnny replied:
I think you can apply for a China visa at the China Embassy in Paris, but I'm not sure whether you can get a multiple entry visa or not. Have a try! Good Luck!
