Dujiangyan Irrigation system, ticket at about Y90.00, is definitely worth your visit. It is about 35km from Chengdu and needs almost one whole day for visit. First of all, the spectacular project itself is world-shocking, but also for lots of other things. The walk on the hanging bridge is adventurous and funny. The around scenery of the mountain, the verdant trees and clean water, the temple in the distance, then suddenly enter a nice park with fountains and bonsai trees... all of these will make you feel refreshing and fulfilling...

I went to Jiu Zhai Gou and Huang Long from Chengdu by a tour bus instead of the plane. It was hella cheap, my entire journey (everything included food, bed, admission) cost only 550 rmb (note the admission tickets alone would cost 500). However, the road to Jiu Zhai was extremely rough, I got really sick by the buses turning in extremely fast circles (literarily one after another up a mountain) for 12 hours straight. 1/2 of the people on that bus vomitted everyone 2 hours and we were driving erratically above 3000m the whole time, once reached 4200m. At many points we were driving next to a cliff with rocks falling off and tulmutous river flowing below. I would have enjoyed the magnificient view, except my head was spinning like crazy and I had to keep my eyes closed to prevent myself from vomitting. This sort of situation happened for all 4 days I was on this trip. It's NOT worth going by bus, those with some financial ability I highly suggest flying. Why didn't anyone warn me, I especially read in guidebooks saying the Jiuzhaigou road is quite safe and smooth.

Since it is getting colder and colder in China, I advise you not to visit some far-away places such as Jiuzhaigou in Chengdu. Last year I visited Jiuzhaigou with my friends, we really appreciated the beautiful scenery, but our flight out of Jiuzhaigou was delayed for several times due to the bad weather. Finally we had to rearrange our plan. When it comes too cold, some of the sites in Jiuzhaigou would not be able to visit, or it will take much longer time. Maybe August or September is the best season for traveling.
