The Han River, that is Han Shui, is the largest branch of the Yangtze River. It originates from the southwest of Shaanxi Province, flows through Hubei province and joins in Yangtze River in Wuhan. Its span is 1532 kilometers. This river enriches the passing cities. The following route will show you the scenery along the Han River.

In the first day, your starting point is Xiangfan city in Hubei province. Take the long-distanced bus at Xiangfan coach station heading to Zhongxiang city. The station is just 300 meters away from the railway station and located at the No. 34 of Zhongyuan Road in Xiangfan city. The whole journey is 45 kilometers and you will be charged with ¥25.00 per person as the bus fare. After 3 hours' drive, you will arrive at Zhongxiang bus station. Take a taxi outside of the station and go on transferring to your first destination - Mingxian Mausoleum, which is 7.5 kilometers away from the city. The bus fare is around ¥10.00 at most.

Mingxian Mausoleum is the tomb of one emperor in Ming Dynasty and it was built in 1540. It covers around 399,600.00 square meters and is surrounded by the red high wall, whose girth is 36 kilometers. There you can appreciate the ancient buildings and some old sites. And 2 hours is enough for you to stroll around the tomb and appreciate its historical track. Then, you can come out to return back. Since there is no taxi outside the mausoleum, you need to take a tricycle transferring back to the Zhongxiang bus station. Upon arrive at the bus station, you can have a short rest and take a regular bus going directly towards the Da Hongshan town. There lays the pleasant scenic spot - Da Hongshan. Since it will be late, you can stay at the town for an overnight. The recommended guesthouse is Hong Bin Hostel at Huaihe road in Hongshan town. Its room rate is around ¥15.00 per night.

The second day, after having breakfast in the town, you can go to visit the Da Hong mountain area. Its range is 330 square kilometers and it lies beside the Han River. Besides, there is a group of limestone caves. The most famous cave is Double Kings Cave (Shuang Wang), which hides the amazing stalactite. Do not forget to see the lake at the top of the mountain, which is appreciated as the "fairly pool" - White Dragon Pool (Bailong chi). Beside of its own beauty, it also forms a splendid waterfall in the mountainside. The spring pools are available there as well. About 999 mouths of springs are assembling there, which make this place a wonderful spring nursing home. It is really worth your whole day visiting. And you can stay at the guesthouse in the landscape area for an overnight.

The third day, take a bus from Hongshan town carrying on transferring to Suizhou. There you will enjoy the fantastic ancient musical instruments in Zeng Houyi tomb. The tomb is just 2000 meters away from the Suizhou city. These instruments have thousands of years' history. You should not miss them. After having a wonderful time there, you can return to Suizhou and you can take a regular bus back to Zhongxiang leave there as your schedule.
