One-Hundred-Li Azalea Belt Scenic Spot

When people talk about Guizhou, its distinctive landscapes will first come to mind. Karst sights are numerous in the province. Guiyang, the capital city of Guizhou province, has enormous tourist facilities. If you want to join a leisure sightseeing program near Guiyang city, then visit the Azalea Belt Scenic Spot, Zhijin Old Town and Zhijin Cave.

From the Guiyang railway station you may easily reach the Long-distance Bus Station and get on a Qianxi County coach. The ticket costs CNY20.00 per person. During the 3 hours trip, you see the rural simple and tranquil scenery. Upon arrival in Qianxi county coach station, you transfer to another bus by paying from CNY5.00 to CNY10.00 per person to reach Jinpo Scenic Area, where the One-Hundred-Li Azalea Belt Scenic Spot is located. The admission fee is CNY30.00 each. This Scenic spot extends to 50 kilometers, or equivalent 100 li; hence it is named One-Hundred-Li Azalea Belt. There are forty-one categories of azaleas here, which bloom in many colors. But surprise, surprise, there are azaleas in different colors bloom on same tree. 

The best time to visit this world's largest natural garden is in late March and in April, when the scenic spot is gorgeous with azaleas. One could then either take in beautiful views or breathe in the perfume of the azaleas. You return next to Qianxi County and spend CNY10.00 to charter a mini vehicle to reach Zhijin Old Town, where you can find lodging at an inn. You are on your leisure to explore the old town with its ancient temples, pavilions, stone bridges, beautiful hills and clear springs.

Zhijin Cave

After a good night's rest, you can take a minibus from Yuping Street of Zhijin Old Town to Zhijin Cave also known as Daji Cave (Hit Rooster Cave) by the locals within half an hour. The bus ticket fee is CNY6.00 each. Distinguished by various stalagmites of multicolor and peculiar shapes, Zhijin Cave is the world's largest known karst cave with 12 areas and 47 halls. The Cave is an underground art treasure. With depth in excess of 13 kilometers and width in excess of 173 meters and ample grotesque attractions and underground lakes, Zhijin Cave is a winner in drawing tourists' attention. The admission fee is CNY120.00 each. Since one can easily get lost in Zhijin Cave, one needs to follow the guide closely. When you finish the tour, take coach either to Guiyang or to Anshun from Zhijin Old Town.

One more piece of information for you is that the road condition is not very good from Qianxi to Zhijin Old Town and Zhijin Cave. If you have car sickness, you may well prepare for it.
