Situated near the South Gate of City Wall in Xian, the Forest of Stone Steles Museum is a treasure house of stone steles. Built in the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), the museum houses a large collection of the earliest stone steles. Over 3,000 steles with traditional inscriptions were stored in the museum.
