- Situated in the western suburbs of Chengdu, the Thatched Cottage of Du Fu is the former residence of the famous Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet, Du Fu. To get away from the An-Shi Rebellion that broke out in 758 A.D, the poet fled to the western suburbs of Chengdu and built the cottage there.
