CAREFUL with Taxis from Harbin Airport into downtown. There seems to be a cheat going on because although the taxi has a meter we ended up paying 320 CNY (45-50 USD) for the cab. There was no traffic jam and the hotel we headed towards was right in the center of town. The taxi's appearance was just like any official taxi and we got the taxi outside the airport where many taxis were q'ing up to take passengers.
So instead of 100-120 CNY as this page suggests we paid three times.

Mr.Frank Li(China) replied:
What a pity! If the meter has no trick, I supposed that you have hired a higher-class taxi. Usually, outside the airport, there are some taxis, which are better than these one running in downtown area. This kind of taxi has higher flag-down rate and surcharge. I have experienced the same situation when I went to Xi'an last time. I hired a black taxi waiting at the airport square, then unfortunately that this taxi charged fare twice than a green one.

i am shame out of the cheating cab, normally, the cab cost you 120 ~140 CNY from airport to downtown. you should ask somebody in uniform for the cab or ask the price before you get in the cab. just your lucky meeting the only robber.

I'm traveling form Harbin to Shanghai next month. I have booked my ticket online but don't have an itinerary receipt. So I'm just checking do i really need the receipt for booking, and if yes can i print one from the airport.
Note: I bought my ticket from Qunar.com

Mr.Sandy replied:
If you have pay for the ticket, you will have a e-ticket number from them. If so, you do not have to print a itinerary receipt. If you are sure about the flight time, airlines and other information, you can go directly to the airlines counters in the airport. It is better to get to the airport early. Earlier the better. Take your ID certificates of course.

i want to know the air fares from islamabad, Pakistan to Harbin. And also from Saudi arabia to harbin
Jan. 8,2010 20:46
Mr.Hank replied:
I'm afraid that there is no direct flight from Islamabad to Harbin. You have to transfer at Beijing or Shanghai. Since the airfare is changeful in different month, it is suggested that you ask the airline companies for details.

Hello,
Is there any direct public transportation from the airport to Harbin East train station?
Thanks.
Nov. 8,2009 01:35
Mr.Clark replied:
There is only airport shuttle bus to Harbin Railway Station. After getting there, you should take Bus 6 to Harbin East Railway Station. You can just take a taxi from Harbin Station to Harbin East Station.

Mr. Clark,
Thanks again for your kind respond. Do you know any infomation about the hotel at the airport? I am arriving at 8 pm and thinking to get a room there.
Do you know how far it is and/or rooms availability (actually is it a very busy place) ?
Any comments would be appreciated.

Mr.Clark replied:
Harbin airport hotel within the airport area is the nearest. It is a 3 star hotel. My suggestion is to stay in the hotel in town and you can get around the city area for a while in the next day and it is more convenient to get to the railway station then. Usually, airport hotel is not decent as the ones in town.

Mr. Clark,
Thanks for the info. Yes, I would take a taxi, but I am going to travel along and concern about my safety there if I get a taxi just by myself. I have 24 hours to get to the train station from the airport.
