2 Days Shunan Bamboo Sea Region

The Shunan Bamboo Sea region is located between Jiangan and Changning Counties, south of Sichuan. It covers 120 square kilometers and the landscape is dotted with bamboos trees and waterfalls.  The fresh air and serene ambiance of this unique and isolated place lures many people. In face, the famous American Chinese film director, Ann Li, chose the bamboo sea area for one of pivotal  scenes in his masterpiece "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

Shunan Bamboo Sea, Chengdu

Visitors can take the tourist bus from Chengdu dircetly to Shunan Bamboo Sea. The first bus leaves at 8:00 every morning. The trips takes 4 hours and costs CNY85.00 per person. Alternatively, Both the bus  and train take passengers to Yibin. From there you can find many buses to the Bamboo Sea. Upon your arrival, visit the Bamboo Museum and Worry-Dispelling Valley. The Worry-Dispelling Valley is a narrow and long valley, along which vast expanses of bamboo trees stand. As the name indicates, as you wander around the Worry-Dispelling Valley, you will forget all of your worries and find peace of mind. The entrance fee for Bamboo Sea is CNY85.00 per person. Stay in the tourist area for one night. There are many hotels to choose from. Or you may choose to stay at a temples or a farmhouse - this will indeed be a new experience.

The next day visit Cloud-watching Pavilion, Jade Long Corridor, Immortal Living Cave, Tianbaozhai and the Fairy Lake. You can tour the area on foot, or ride the cable car, tourist bus or taxi in the tourist area. At the end of the day, take the bus back to Chengdu.

2 Days of Xiling Snow-Covered Mountain

Xiling Snow-Covered Mountain is 95 kilometer northwest of Chengdu. Located in Dayi County, it covers almost 482.8 square kilometers. The mountain peaks at an altitude of 5364 meters. The virgin forest covers 90 percentage of the tourist area. With the diverse climate zones, different sceneries attract many people throughout the entire year.

It is convenient to get to Mt. Xiling. You can take a bus from the Chengdu New South Gate bus station or the Jinsha bus station directly to Xiling Snow-Covered Mountain. The first bus departs at 8:30 and costs CNY20.00 per person. The trip takes about an hour. You can also take bus to Xiling town and take a bus to the Snow Mountain from there.

Xiling Snow-Cover Mountain is divided to two parts, the anterior and the posterior. The main tourist sites are in the posterior part, which includes Hongshijian, Hongshi Fort, Yeniudao, Riyueping and Yinyangjie. The largest ski resort in China is also here.  Located at an altitude of 2200 to 2400 meters, the ski resort covers almost 8 square kilometers. The average temperature year round is 10 celsius and the snow is 60 to 80 centimeters thick

The highlight of Xiling mountain is Yinyangjie.  It is located at an altitude of 3200 kilometers, on the boundary of the plateau and basin climates. The special geographical position makes the scenery unique. One side is clear and sunny, while the other side is cloudy and misty.  This is like the Yin and Yang in Taiji diagram. So it called Yinyangjie.
