Every major point of attraction will have souvenier stands and vendors set up outside their major entrance / exits.

Every shop has basically the same item, you can even pick up Terracotta Soldiers all the way in Hong Kong or, Plates that say "The Great Wall" back in Xian.

It is cheaper to buy from local vendors back in the city or, near the hotel where you're staying if they have a day/night market. Souvenier vendors outside the attractions barter much harder counting on your weakness as a tourist to "buy from an authentic" location

A very important thing during your travel to remember: You only have 24 hours each day. If you spent more time here, then you will surely spent less time there.
On the way to the Great Wall, we were led to a Jade shop by our guide. He was a good guide and the shop was a good shop. We was so attracted by all kinds of jewelries made by jade that we spend lots of time there. Then we found we have very limited time to visit the Scared Way and the Ming Tomb.
