7 Days Independent Bangalore - Mysore - Hampi - Badami - Chennai

If you get to Mysore from Bangalore airport, then airport shuttle bus named FlyBus is available. The bus ride takes 4-5 hours to Mysore.

Train is also a good choice from Ksr Bengaluru to Mysore Jn, the train ride lasts 3 hours and runs every 30 minutes to 1 hour from 06:45 to 23:30.

Besides, a company called BlaBlaCar offers carpool service, you can contact them in advance. Mysore is 142km away from Bangalore, you are about to pay $10 - 15 for the 3.5 hour trip. If time permits, hire a tutu to visit Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion Museum (on University campus). This museum is closed on every Sunday and Monday, and national holiday. Please check the availability before you go.

Hire a taxi from Mysore to VF3M+PVW, the single way takes 1 hour and 20 minutes. It is the best choice if you go back and forth in a day. A single-way train journey to Shravanabelagola takes 4 hours and the earliest train is 07313 07:45/ 11:52, where you can take a tutu to VF3M+PVW and then visit the temple.

Walk to visit the Devaraja Market with a hundred years history, then have a happy rickshaw tour to this city, Saint Philomena's Church, Zoology Garden and Sand Sculpture Museum are all good destinations. Take the night train 16952 18:35/ 07:25 +1 to Hospet Jn.

Train arrives at Hospet Jn at 07:25, take a tuktuk for 14 minutes to Hampi. Hire a tuktuk or rent a bicycle from your hotel to view the world heritage sites. The free light show at Elephant Stables starts at 19:00, you can go there if interested.

You can have another day at Hampi to visit the Monkey Temple and have a mountain trek at leisure, still use the tuktuk or bicycle. This small village really worth your time. Take the late afternoon train 16217 17:55/ 20:35 to Badami.

Take a Tutu for 20 minutes to Pattadakal, a place with the world heritage sites. Or, you can check with your hotel and take a group tour there, it will be easier to have a guidance.

Take a tutu to visit the Cave Temple and Banami Fort (Closed on Friday). Take a bus or taxi for about one hour to Gadag Jn, where you can take the overnight train 17313 22:20/ 11:10 +1 to Chennai Central station. 

Or, take a taxi for three hours to Hubballi and stay at a hotel near airport, then fly to Chennai the next day.
