About 30 pairs of normal speed overnight sleeper trains serve between Lanzhou and Zhangye with a distance of 530 kilometers (329 miles). Duration is 4 – 8.5 hours. It costs CNY178 per person for a hard sleeper.

Four types of trains including Z, T, Y, K types are used for this trip. Some Z types such as Z232/Z231, Z42/Z41, Z106/Z105, Z136/Z135, and Z294/Z293 take the shortest time of 4 – 4.5 hours. In this case, passengers are recommended to buy Z types for this journey. Besides, overnight sleeper trains departing in the evening and arriving in the next early morning are also good choices because they save one-night hotel expenditure and the day time.
The ticket fare and travel time of high speed rail and normal speed Z type do not differ much. But the Z types offer sleepers so passengers can lie down while the high speed ones have more advanced facilities.

00ReplyYes, it is available now. The fare differs according to different trains, ranging from CNY 113 -150 for a second class seat. It generally takes about 2-3 hours.

00ReplyThere is no free meal offered but see from the train time, there may be still meal for sale at that time. If you like, you can take food yourself as well.

00ReplyNo direct bus, so the most convenient way would be taxi which takes around 30min. If you want to use bus service, you can take bus No. 1 to ICBC bank first (I suppose it is the 12th stop) and then change to bus No. 6 and get off at Nanzhaocun. The bus stop is near West Railway Station, maybe 500m walking. You need to prepare at least 1 hour for this trip.
