Gan River, the mother river of Jiangxi Province, runs from the south to north with a total length of more than 800 kilometers (497 miles). It is one of the main tributaries of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and also the largest river in Jiangxi Province. Since the late Tang Dynasty (A.D.618-907) to the year of 1936 when the railway of Guangdong Province to Wuhan Province was opened to traffic, Gan River had been the main channel linking the Yangtze River and Pearl River.

On the morning of the first day, take a coach at the Ganzhou Long Distance Bus Station to the Longnan County. The coach departs every 35 minutes and a single ticket will cost you CNY24. After about 3 hours, you will arrive at the Longnan County. Change to take an autobus to Guanxi Town. If you mind the autobus' low speed, you may take a taxi and you need to spend CNY40 for one car. It will take you only 20 minutes to the today's first destination - Hakka's Castle. One admission ticket will charge you CNY10. As the largest and best preserved Hakka's castle in the south of Jiangxi, this one actually has a history of hundreds of years. Standing in the sun, the whole castle is an oasis of serenity amidst the bustling city. Have you lunch here. Then take a taxi to Dingnan County, which is only about 40 kilometers (24.9 miles) away. Catch a bus to Anyuan County. Visit the famous Yongzhen Gallery Bridge. The unique integration of a bridge and a house thanks to the carpentry technology applied in the construction of the stone arch bridge in ancient times. You cannot miss the Wuwei Pagoda there, which has a history of longer than 900 years. Accommodate yourself at Anyuan County.

On the second day, take a bus to Sanbai Mountain, which sets out every 30 minutes. The entrance fee is CNY11. This forest park deserves a whole day's visiting. The clear and splendid source of Dongjiang River, spectacular and mass waterfalls, well preserved evergreen broad-leaved forest and impeccable quality of the air are the four incomparable treasures of Sanbai Mountain. There are two routes to explore the Sanbai Mountain. One is to take a boat from the Dongfeng Lake and start to climb up the mountain upstream along the river. You will finally reach the headstream of the Sanbai Mountian - Fuaotang and descend the mountain by car. Another one is to get to the Fuaotang directly via Hugang hot spring by car. Then descend the mountain by foot down the river and finally arrive at the Dongfeng Lake. You may choose either of them you like. There are many legends about the reason why Sanbai Mountain got its name since “Sanbai” means “three hundred” in Chinese. And it is your turn to discover them all.
