Located in the south of Anhui Province, Huangshan City is renowned for the Mt. Huangshan. As it is shown in this Huangshan city map, the Xin'an River crosses the downtown. The railway station and the coach bus station are situated in the north of the city. The map of Huangshan City also indicates the directions to the Mt. Huangshan Scenic Area, the airport and the Shexian County, which is very helpful for hikers and self-driving tourists.
This is a tourist map of Huangshan and its surrounding areas. The main attractions in and around Huangshan are shown here clearly. From Huangshan City, Nanjing, Jingdezhen and Shanghai can be reached by bus or train directly, while to go to Wuyuan and Hangzhou, there are no direct trains but long-distance buses.

It takes 11 or 14 hours (only two trains) from Suzhou to Huangshan and one hour longer from Shanghai to Huangshan. The ticket fare is around 170RMB for hard sleeper and 260RMB for soft sleeper (30RMB less from Suzhou to Huangshan).
No train is availale from Huangshan to Hangzhou. You should go by bus. It takes 2.5-3 hours from Huangshan (TUnxi) to hangzhou and the bus tickset costs about 80RMB.

Everyday, there is only one train K45 departing from Beijing Railway Station to Huangshan City. It takes about 20 hours and costs 330RMB/hard-sleeper. When you arrive in Huangshan City, you have to take a bus to reach Mt. Huangshan Scenic Area in 1.5 hours. Hope this helps!
