7 Days of Xining - Xihai Town - Gangchaxian - Bird Island - Jiangxigou - Xining

Day 01: Arrival in Xining
Upon arrival, check in at a local hotel and have an adaptive training.


Day 02: Xining - Xihai Town
Cycle to Zhamalong and visit Zhamalong Fenghuangshan. Then cycle to Huangyuan County. En route, visit Huangyuan Gorges, the Throat of Qinghai - Tibet. Continue your trip to Bayan Gorges and Haiyan County. Your last stop is Xihaizhen, China's first base for the development of nuclear weapons.


Day 03: Xihai Town - Gangcha County
Visit China's first base for the development of nuclear weapons and its monument. Cycle to Gangchaxian via Haergai, Ganzihe and Sanjiaocheng Farm for Raising Sheep. En route, experience the Tibetan customs and enjoy the amazing scenery of Qinghai Lake and grassland.


Day 04: Gangchaxian - Bird Island
Cycle to Bird Island via Quanji Villages and Buha River. En route, enjoy the beautiful grassland scenery and visit the Fifth Dalai Shenquan and Shatuo Temple. There are thousands of birds on Bird Island from April to July. Stay overnight at the local hotel.


Day 05: Bird Island - Jiangxigou
Cycle to Tiebujia Grassland. Enjoy the grassland scenery and the white beach along the Qinghai Lake. Then cycle to Jiangxigou via Qiejitang and Heimahe. En route, visit the Jihaitai, Erlangjian Bandao and Zhenhaita.


Day 06: Jiangxigou - Xining
Cycle to Laji Mountain. En route, visit the Riyue Mountain, the watershed of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau and Daotanghe. Then cycle downhill to Xining via Shangxinzhuang. Visit Ta'er Monastery, one of the six most significant Yellow-hat-sect Lamaist monasteries, also the birthplace of Tsongkaba, founder of Yellow-hat sect.


Day 07: Departure from Xining
Cycle around Xining. Visit Northern Buddhist Temple, a Bright Pearl on the Southern Path of the Silk Road and Dongguan Mosque, one of the most famous mosques in the northwest region of China. End your tour here. Leave Xining according to your schedule.
