Day 1 Arrival in Bangkok
Welcome to Bangkok! Our guide and driver will greet you at the arrival hall of the airport with an identifying signboard. A brief orientation will be given on the way to the chosen hotel. After check-in, you may either rest at the hotel or walk around the neighborhood.

Today your memorable tour starts! Our first stop is Wat Pho, a must-see sight famous for its huge and impressive Reclining Buddha. Next we proceed to the Grand Palace for the finest examples of Thai architecture. The magnificent buildings together with the significant Wat Phra Kaew give visitors great insight into the old royal court and Thai culture. Lunch is served at a local popular restaurant. After that, we board a private long-tail boat onto Klong Bang Luang. We will take time to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and observe the fancy shops, local temples and vendors as the boat moving slowly along the waterway. We then stop at Baan Silapin, an inspiring art gallery. Here you can either make crafts in an art workshop or walk around the neighborhood at leisure. A traditional Thai puppet performance comes next (if available). We conclude the day after visiting Wat Arun, which attracts people with its distinct and beautiful ornaments decorated all over the buildings.

Let's experience something different today. We'll leave the hotel early and drive for two hours to DamnoenSaduak Floating Market, which features on many Bangkok postcards. The market is bustling with various boats selling fruits, vegetables and food, and we can take time to observe this traditional way of life. After having lunch, we return to Bangkok. En route, we stop at a farmhouse to see how locals make sugar from coconuts.We then head to Jim Thompson's house to see a collection of old Thai houses before going back to the hotel.

Day 4 Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok

After breakfast, we drive from Bangkok to Ayutthaya for a day-trip. En route, we visit the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, which has been the biggest and most beautiful summer retreat for the royal family for centuries. As the ancient capital city for more than 400 years (1350-1767), Ayutthaya has numerous precious historical monuments. We then visit a selection of most-visited attractions including Wat Yai Chai Monghon, Wihan Phra mongkhon Bophit, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Maha That and Wat Na Phra Mane. In the late afternoon, we transfer you back to the hotel in Bangkok.

Day 5 Bangkok - Siem Reap
Fly to to Siem Reap. Airport-hotel transfer, free time for the rest of the day. (B+L)
Have some free time until you are transferred to the airport for the flight to Siem Reap, the gateway city to the complex of Angkor Ruins of Cambodia. On arriving, our local guide will meet you at the airport exit. A private transfer takes you to the well-chosen hotel. You can spend the rest of the day simply relaxing at the hotel or exploring the Old Market in the city center on your own.

Day 6 Siem Reap

A temple of Angkor Ruins
Enjoy an entire day dedicated to discovering the mysterious Angkor temples. We can take you to view the spectacular sunrise at Angkor Wat if you are interested. Then proceed to Angkor Thom's imposing South Gate, topped with the four serenely smiling faces of Avalokiteshvara. Next, visit the Bayon Temple, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King, which are considered as the most impressive of all temples. Afterwards, we visit Ta Prohm Temple, which is also known as Jungle Temple for the centuries-old trees growing over the ruins. Climb up to the hilltop Bakheng Temple to enjoy sunset view. In the evening, we will enjoy an Apsara dinner show.

Day 7 Siem Reap
Preah Khan, Banteay Srei Temple, pass by local villages, Banteay Samre, return to the ancient capital of King Indravarman I, stop at Orphanage school. (B+L)
An amazing day awaits you! Today we will visit Preah Khan (Sacred Sword): one of Angkor's largest temples, constructed in the 12th century. Our journey continues with a drive to the country side of Khmer people to elegant temple of Banteay Srei which is built from pinkish red sandstone with detailed delicate carvings, which makes it quite different from the others. It is the birthplace of classical Khmer architecture then explores Banteay Samre. Stop along the way to see farmers making Palm sugar. We suggest you have the lunch at Bong Thom home stay (reservation is needed). In the afternoon, we will drive back to the ancient capital of King Indravarman I (877–889), now referred to as the Rolous Group and known as the birthplace of classical Khmer art and architecture. If time allowed we stop at Orphanage school for a short visit. Arrive at the hotel later in the afternoon.

Day 8 Siem Reap - Ho Chi Minh City
Tonle Sap Lake, a boat ride to floating village, fly to Ho Chi Minh City. Airport-hotel transfer, free time for the rest of the day. (B+L)
Banteay Srei Temple
This morning we leave for Tonle Sap Lake, to take a boat to visit the floating village. You will see how people live with houseboats, school, shops, a church and other facilities all totally on the water. After having lunch, we escort you to the airport for you to board the flight to Saigon. On arriving, you will be greeted and taken to the downtown hotel by our Vietnam guide. For the rest of the day, you may familiarize yourself with the city or have a good rest.

Day 9 Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnel - Ho Chi Minh City
Morning excursion to Cu Chi Tunnels, afternoon visits to War Remnants Museum, Reunification Palace, City Center Post Office, Dong Khoi Street. (B+L)
We start the day with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a maze of underground air raid tunnels dug during the Vietnam War. To crawl through parts of the tunnels is an awesome and thought-provoking experience. Afterwards, we return to Ho Chi Minh City to explore the city's most popular sightseeing spots including the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, and the City Center Post Office, all of which evoke a bygone era. We conclude the day with a leisurely stroll along Dong Khoi Street.

Day 10 Ho Chi Minh City - Ben Tre - Ho Chi Minh City

Today we drive out of Ho Chi Minh City to visit the Mekong River Delta. It's about a two-hour ride to Ben Tre. From there we take a boat to cruise along the Ham Luong River. En route, we see many barges filled with various fresh fruits, vegetables, rice and so on. We also visit a family-run workshop to watch the conventional way of processing coconut candy, rice paper rolls and swelled candy. Followed by a rowboat trip to the more rural area, our guide will escort you to visit a local family. Afterwards, we observe the rural scenery by "Xe Loi" ride or bicycle. All these give us a very good idea of Vietnamese life along the river. Later we will cruise back to Ben Tre, from where we transfer back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 11 Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang - Hoi An
Fly to Danang, drive to Hoian Ancient Town, walking tour to Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Hall, Tan Ky ancestral house, Japanese Bridge. (B)
This morning you will take a flight to Da Nang. Our local guide will greet you at the airport and take you to the hotel in Hoi An. As a thriving trading port from the 15th to the 19th century, the ancient town of Hoi An has retained its charm with the Asian and French colonial architecture. After a short break, we'll have a half-day walking tour through the narrow streets with stopovers at the centuries-old Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Hall, Tan Ky ancestral house and the famed Japanese Bridge. To round off the day, we take a short boat trip on the tranquil Thu Bon River. Evening is free for you to relax and enjoy the enchanting night view on your own.

Day 12 Hoi An - Hue

After breakfast, we leave for Hue by a private car. We can feast our eyes on the charming scenery along the way. In particular, we will have a stopover at Hai Van Pass, from where we can get a stunning view of mountains, sea, coast and Da Nang City. We will take a drink at the fishing village of Lang Co. It will be early afternoon when we get to the hotel in Hue. After a brief rest, we have a walking tour around the town and visit the Hue Imperial City (The Citadel), the Mausoleum of King TuDuc, the Hue Royal Palace and Dong Ba Market.

Day 13 Hue - Hanoi

A visit to Thien Mu Pagoda is scheduled this morning. We shall take a private boat trip down Perfume River to reach this historical and culturally significant pagoda. Attractively set in gardens, monks live and practice their religion on-site; Thien Mu Pagoda is highly rated among visitors. Afterwards, you will take a flight to Hanoi. Our local guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 14 Hanoi
Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Ming's Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, cyclo trip around Hoan Kiem Lake, Old Quarter. (B+L)

What we show you today are the most-visited destinations in downtown Hanoi. First we head to Ba Dinh Square to visit the solemn Ho Chi Minh Complex including Ho Chi Ming's Mausoleum & his former residence, the One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature. (Note that Ho Chi Ming's Mausoleum is closed every Monday and Friday, as well as every October and November. During its closure, we will visit Hoang Thanh Thang Long, West Lake and Quan Thanh Temple instead.) After having lunch, we proceed to Hoan Kiem Lake and have a relaxing cyclo trip. We then explore the vibrant Old Quarter, where people get a real Vietnamese experience. Afterwards, we transfer you back to the hotel.

Day 15 Hanoi - Halong Bay
Drive to Halong Bay to board the Signature Cruise and stay one night on the cruise. You will have a wonderful time. (B+L+D)
Sightseeing today brings us to Halong Bay, which was listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1994. A big breakfast at the hotel is advisable since the drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay takes three to four hours. (The description of the itinerary for today and tomorrow is just a sample for our standard tour. The program is different on other luxury cruises & subject to change depending on the weather. Full details are available upon request). Board a junk cruise to take in the fascinating landscape. You will see a great many big and small limestone islands. Lunch and dinner are all served on board. An excursion to one of Halong Bay's three largest limestone caves, ThienCung, Dau Go, or Sung Sot, is scheduled in the afternoon. For the rest of the day, you can enjoy lazing onboard or take part in the optional activities, including kayaking, diving and swimming. Stay overnight on the junk cruise.

Day 16 Halong Bay - Hanoi
Rowboat to explore the nearby islands. Disembark around noon and drive to Hanoi. (Brunch)

There will be people practicing Tai Chi on the top deck in the early morning. If you are interested, you can get up early and join in. Following a wake-up coffee or tea, you will take a rowboat to explore the nearby islands. After that, you will get back to your cruise and have brunch as the junk makes its way back to Halong pier. Our Hanoi guide and driver are ready to meet you as soon as you disembark. Drive back to your hotel in Hanoi. We leave the remainder of the day free for your own activities.

cheaper travel from Siem Reap to Hanoi?
Hello, Would anyone have any ideas or some nice advice on train, bus or flights from Siem Reap to Hanoi??

Flights between Vietnam and Cambodia are expensive. And there is no trains in Cambodia, you could take bus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh (6 hours) then on to HCMC (another 6 hours) and then fly to Hanoi (internal flights in Vietnam tend to be quite reasonably priced).
