A wonderful way to experience China as a group!
Our group of friends had a great time in China. Amy helped with all of our planning and customized the itinerary to suit our needs. She was helpful and responsive throughout the entire planning process, which made it easy to coordinate with our group. We spent 9 days in Beijing, Xi'an and Chengdu. We could easily have spent another week seeing all of the sights in those cities!

Absolutely incredible experience on this full day tour
I did this full-day Beijing tour as a solo traveller and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience—largely thanks to our guide, Helen.

From the moment the day started, she was warm, organised, and incredibly knowledgeable. She brought each stop to life, whether we were walking through Tiananmen Square, exploring the history of the Forbidden City, or taking in the incredible views at the Great Wall. You can tell she genuinely cares about what she does—she wasn’t just reciting facts, she was telling stories and making sure everyone felt involved.

As someone travelling alone, it can sometimes feel a bit daunting joining group tours, but Helen made it so easy to feel included and comfortable. She checked in regularly, made sure we all had what we needed, and kept the day running smoothly without ever making it feel rushed.

The whole experience felt well-paced, informative, and fun. If you’re considering this tour—especially as a solo traveller—I’d highly recommend it. And if you get Helen as your guide, you’re in very good hands. Less

The easiest way to do the Forbidden City
We had a wonderful experience visiting the Forbidden City in Beijing. We didn’t want to wander aimlessly and with the language barrier, it can be difficult to fully understand what you’re seeing, so we decided to go with a tour. It was absolutely worth it.

From the very beginning our guide Helen stood out. She went out of her way to find us at the meeting point and gave clear practical instructions on what to carry so we could move through security smoothly. Somehow, she got us through incredibly fast while we saw many other groups stuck in long queues.

During the tour, she brought the Forbidden City to life by blending history with modern context in a way that felt natural and engaging. It never felt like a memorised script, which made the experience much more enjoyable.

She also made sure we had time to take photos along the way. I would have personally loved a bit more time, but given that it’s a group tour and we covered a lot of ground the pacing made sense.

What stood out the most was how she handled a small mishap on our end. I accidentally left my phone charger on the bus and Helen went completely out of her way to send it to the Great Wall (our next day stop) and leave it at a restaurant for us to collect. She was incredibly kind about it and didn’t make us feel like it was an inconvenience at all.

Overall, it was a very knowledge filled, thoughtful and enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend this tour, and if you can, ask specifically for Helen. Less

Visiting the Terracotta Warriors: experience of a lifetime
Visiting the Terracotta Warriors has been in my bucket list my whole life. This time when we visited Xi’an, I was finally able to cross it off.

She was super knowledgeable about the history of not only the Terracotta Warriors but about entire China history. We really liked this tour & would recommend it to anyone coming to Xi’an. Less

    A Great Overview of Xi’an
My friend and I only had one day in Xi’an to experience as much as we could. This tour was very informative and we got to see all the highlights! Carol was an excellent guide and very responsive to guest questions and requests. The size of the group allowed for her to take time to talk with everyone on the trip and she was considerate of everyone. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see the Terracotta Warriors as well as highlights in the city.

Our day exploring Shanghai was the perfect mix of history, culture, and modern city vibes. We started at the historic Former HSBC Building, which gave us a glimpse into Shanghai’s colonial past. Walking along The Bund was definitely a highlight—the skyline views across the river are unreal and such a cool contrast between old and new Shanghai.

Next, we went to the Yu Garden, which honestly felt like stepping into another world. The traditional architecture, koi ponds, and peaceful pathways made it one of the most beautiful spots we visited. Right outside, we wandered through the lively Yuyuan Bazaar—super vibrant with tons of local snacks, souvenirs, and energy everywhere.

We also stopped by the Shanghai History Museum, which helped bring everything together and gave us a deeper understanding of how the city evolved over time.

To wrap up the day, we shopped and ate at Yuyuan Garden Shopping Mall—the perfect place to grab souvenirs and try some local food. Overall, it was such a fun and well-rounded day, with a great balance of sightseeing, shopping, and experiencing the culture. Less

Shanghai - a one day taste that is filling!
My guide, Ryan, made this one day tour worth every minute. We saw some key highlights of the city (including a river cruise in the fog which made for wonderful moody photos!) but it was the information and insights shared by Ryan that made every location come alive. There were also 2 things not on the itinerary that I wanted to do and Ryan made those happen! Amazing guide and worthwhile experience.

James: A Knowledgeable, Accessible Guide to Shanghai
We were in excellent hands with James. He is very knowledgeable about Shanghai and about China in general - its history, traditions, and economy. He guided us throughout the main visits included in our tour, explaining things in detail at all attractions. He also provided tips on where to go at night, where to eat (especially traditional Shanghainese food), and other places of interest to visit. He speaks very good English and was available via WeChat at all times during our stay in Shanghai.

    GORGEOUS GUILIN

Another outstanding "feature" of our time in Guilin was our tour guide, Oscar Lu. He was not only knowledgeable about the place but he also made his narratives so interesting. Above all, he was always sensitive and attentive to our needs and always looked at things from our perspective. When it was time for our train trip to Chongqing, he gave us a map of the station in Chongqing so that we would know exactly where to go when we got there. He even gave us the name and contact number of the person who was meeting us. Having missed our guide at another station, we greatly appreciated this thoughtful gesture on Oscar's part. Once again, A HUGE THANK YOU, OSCAR!

    Chengdu the city of Pandas
Our private tour guide Julie and our driver Mr Yang was excellent. Thanks to Julie's knowledge and expertise we were able to maximise our stay in Chengdu and get to see the pandas ahead of the main crowd. Location of our hotel Grand Hyatt was well located just footstep away from the key shopping area and restaurants. Afternoon tea in the Renmin park was very relaxing and enjoyable seeing live cultural performance while drinking local tea. Returning soon to Chengdu again.
