My husband and I did a 2day tour of Beijing and had the pleasure of having Barry as our guide. He was absolutely phenomenal. He recommended amazing places and was so patient... The highlight of our trip was the Great Wall which left us in absolute awe.

We also want to express our gratitude to our tour guide, Ms. Kitty Kang. We had a fantastic time during the two-day tour. She shared insightful details about the history of the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Great Wall, experience local food and more.

Our two-day tour was wonderfully relaxed, considering we have two children age 9 and 5. Ms. Kang was incredibly patient with my kids, understanding when they needed to take breaks during our walks. Less

Our thanks to Lily for the smooth and informative day tour!
We came to Xi’an in the winter low season and were the only ones in our group for the day! Lily was knowledgeable and professional, and brought us through several highlights of Xi’an. Pick up was smooth and easy at our hotel, and we didn’t have to worry about tickets for any of the sites too. Everything was a breeze and Lily had stories and anecdotes aplenty in response to our many questions. Would definitely recommend

Nice time in Xi'An with Celine
Celine was our guide and she was very professional through out our trip in Xi'An. Kudos to her good knowledge and sharing of Chinese history, we now have a good insight of the attractions we've visited. She was also very service oriented by making herself easily contactable and ensured that we're well taken of during our time here. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone who wants to have a enjoyable trip in Xi'An.

TravelChinaGuide with Roger in Xi'an Rave!
Roger was our guide in Xian for 2 1/2 days. He is a fount of historical knowledge, and started in with stories of Qin and Tang dynasty emperors and empresses that interlaced with museum exhibits, terra cotta warrior visit, and temple visits. If he recommends the theatre, GO! It's spectacular and encapsulates what you have seen in Xi'an. Roger's lunch recommendations were spot on too. I highly recommend him and TravelChinaGuide.

Xi'an was one stop in a multicity tour of china (Shanghai, Lijiang, Chengdu, Beijing). Travel China Guide did all the arrangements except one city where we had business, and all the guides and itineraries were great. When I was planning the trip, I sent out emails to 5 or six different guide companies, with desired itinerary starting in Shanghai and ending in Beijing (constrained by our business stop). A few companies didn't even respond. All the others except TravelChinaGuide were happy to have us do a trip in the more usual Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu direction. I appreciate TravelChinaGuide for having the flexibility to accommodate our schedule, rather than trying to plug us into the more usual, set ininerary.

Our guides in Chengdu (Rebecca - her restaurant recommendations were spot on) and Shanghai (Sophie) were wonderful.

As far as TravelChinaGuide, I was apprehensive when I was booking, since I feared they weren't "real." They say on their website that they are members of several different travel associations (and that they were reviewed by NYT), but confirming that was difficult since they have had multiple names over their decades of doing business, including Warrior Travel, and, originally Xi'an Marco Polo Travel International. The travel associations had them as members up to 2019 as XI'an Marco Polo (then probably dropped due to covid), and NYT as warrior travel. Finally based on Trip Advisor reviews as recently as a month prior to my booking, I took the faith leap and booked. These guys are real. Bookings were solid, tour guides always on time and reliable.

A note about China internet and payment. I was able to get onto WeChat once we met our first guide and he could scan my personal QR code. I could not get it to work in advance of going to China. I also never could get WeChat pay to work. It was pulling teeth to find in the app where to add a card, and then it required identity authentication by photos of your passport and of yourself. Despite 10X tries or more, it kept rejecting my pictures. We managed to pay by cash and in some places by credit card, though one card kept getting rejected - the card company says it never made it through to them, the problem was the machine or internet on China's side. I would think China needs to work on this if they want tourism income.

As far as internet, I was able to access Google, YouTube, GooglePlay etc as long as I stayed on my cell provider roaming internet. The minute I signed into the hotel or local internet, it was all blocked. Go figure. Don't know how long that will last... Less

What an amazing and unforgettable experience!

Celine, my tour guide, was a very kind and knowledgeable person who walked me back in time to the firs Capital of China Xi'an, the first imperial dynasty and the emperor Qin Shi Huangdi’s tomb and his Terracotta warriors, as well as the local culture. The tour was very personalised which I very much appreciated. Also thanks to Ashley excellent coordination and facilitator.

The tour guides and drivers are very friendly and accommodating. My wife and I felt a little sick on the second day in Beijing, our tour guide ordered some over-the-counter medication and couriered to our hotel within an hour. In Shanghai, we walked past the Liuli China Museum (glass art) and wanted to get in. Our guide quickly rearranged the plan for the rest of the day. Overall they provided excellent services and the planned trip worked out exactly the way we anticipated, and more. We are now planning a Xinjian trip with them. Less

    Shanghai in a day.
After a great experience with Travel China in Beijing we choose them again for a one day tour of Shanghai. Our guide, Martin, was very knowledgeable and full of facts around the culture and the places we visited. He also went above and beyond in organizing an alternative vehicle due to me being bigger guy and struggling in the smaller car. His communication and flexibility added to the very enjoyable day and I would recommend him to anyone looking to use Travel China services.

If you only have one day in Shanghai, this is a great way to see the city
We did a one day tour in Shanghai. We visited the Yu Garden, which is an oasis of calm in the midst of the city, walked along the Bund, took a cruise on the Huangpu River, visited the bookstore on the 52nd floor of the Shanghai Tower, and more. It was a full day and we got to see many different aspects of the city. Our guide, Martin, was wonderful and very informative. We greatly enjoyed our time in the city.

Shanghai is INCREDIBLE! well worth a 3 day visit. Most of its history is now well hidden below the super-modern look, ensure to get a well-informed professional guide!!

Old Town walk by night is a MUST. Ancient Water town definitively NOT TO MISS.

He arrived an hour early to make sure he was on time. (Sorry I don't remember his name, he's also a German tour guide.)

Traveling throughout China with Travel China Guide (Marco Polo), Ryan was our 5th Travel China Guide tour guide, and his driver was our 9th driver with the various transfers, they are all dedicated professionals each having worked for 10 to 15 years in their field, we were very, very impressed by their professionalism, care and compassion.

Dinner at the top (45th floor) of the Radisson (not included in the tour) in the rotating restaurant provided great sights and a fun time. It was a first class meal, but was a little pricey. Less

    Amazing.
Everyone sets an expectation of the holiday that they have planned. It was the same for me. But GUILIN far exceeded the expectationsl that I had set. It is really beautiful & the pictures available online, do not & cannot do justice to the real beauty of the city.

We did drive to a little village nearby but there wasn’t much to see here, so we were happy to come home again. Return car journey took 2hrs.

Our guide knew we wanted to visit Elephant Park so when we were dropped off by the driver she kindly walked us to/around the park & told us all about the park & the viewpoint.

The cruise through the river was one of our highlights while in China, and I’m very glad we didn’t have to get a coach/bus back to Guilin city by ourselves. Communication beforehand was great too. Would recommend. Less

The cruise on River Li was absolutely fabulous. Having Kevin as my local guide was like the cherry on the cake! Perfect organisation, helpful kind driver, tips and explanations. Relaxed tour and sightseeing with a guide with huge social skills and guiding experience all over China, but especially in his hometown Guilin. A must do on your trip through China!

The following morning, Sugar picked us up early to go to the Chengdu giant panda rescue and research center. Despite the significant size crowds, Sugar managed to get us from place to place for some great views and photos of the Giant Pandas. After leaving the pandas, she took us to a fantastic authentic local restaurant where she helped us order the best local cuisine. The lunch was truly fantastic and we even got to see a mask changing show at the restaurant! After we went to the Jinsha Site museum where she explained the site discovery and history. Lastly we went to Kuan Alley and walked and shopped. It was a really cool neighborhood. Sugar then gave us some great dinner recommendations for local Sichuan Hot Pot (including directions from the hotel)!
