Emily kept in touch with us throughout the trip through Wechat to make sure all was going well. When someone left his cellphone on the tourbus on the way to the airport, we were able to contact her and she immediately contacted the bus driver and return the phone. Without our knowledge, Emily organized a birthday cake surprise at one of our dinner that made the trip very special !!!
Our 26 day trip to Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou, Yangze Cruise, Zhangjiajie, Fenghuang, Guangzhou, Guilin and Shanghai was amazing and made more memorable by all the phenomenal tour guides at each city. I definitely give our trip with TCG a 5 star rating and will recommend TCG to others and will use them again in the future.

Our guide Helen was amazing, she is very nice, friendly, and patient, and she always made sure everyone in the group was comfortable. I was the first to be picked up by the mini-bus from my hotel ( early start ! ) and was greeted by Carol Chen our English-speaking tour guide - she was very friendly and chatty, and helped me practise my ( limited ) Mandarin.
She gave us lots of tips, including about the elbow-shoving to view the warriors!
Everything was extremely well-organised, and although it was a long but enjoyable day, it was actually my one day off because all I had to do was to " follow the flag " !
Even the meal was organised as well as souvenir shopping. Drop-off was not very far at all from the hotel.
If I had organised this trip myself, I doubt if I would have saved much - if any - money, but I was freed from the burden of navigating confusing websites and bus networks - there is no direct regular public transport to the site, so travelling by mini-bus was ideal and our driver drove safely and sensibly.
So, to summarise , TravelChinaGuide is not only an ideal company to use for tours such as this, but also can book rail tickets and handle all other aspects of getting around a vast country which can be very confusing for non-Chinese speakers.
It was a long day, too, for Carol, but she handled it all brilliantly and I have no hesitation in recommending her services. Less

Helen guided us through the beautiful Yu Garden after which we had some free time to explore the adjacent shops. Then we were driven to the Bund area for an hour long boat tour on the Huangpu river. Lunch was included at a very nice Chinese restaurant and we finished the day with some time in the Shanghai museum. An excellent day out with a very knowledgeable guide. Above all, he was always sensitive and attentive to our needs and always looked at things from our perspective. When it was time for our train trip to Chongqing, he gave us a map of the station in Chongqing so that we would know exactly where to go when we got there. He even gave us the name and contact number of the person who was meeting us. Having missed our guide at another station, we greatly appreciated this thoughtful gesture on Oscar's part. We did the Li river cruise, the night spectacular (rivals Fantastmic), bamboo river rafting, biking through rice fields, tasting fruit, climbing 500 steps up a mountain for gorgeous views, an evening lake cruise downtown Guilin, tea tasting and much more. What a treat. Our guide Samantha was the best part of this leg of our trip!

Akshata JVery good experienceI did the 3 day Guilin tour, with this day tour included. Our guide, Monica, spoke excellent English and was very proactive in explaining the history and culture of Guilin to us. The tour company also catered well to our dietary requirements, which I appreciated. They also organised good quality hotels and a driver for us. The Li river cruise was also of high quality, and the scenery was beautiful. No negative experiences.

The morning visit to the Panda Base was the absolute highlight. By arriving at opening, she secured the best spots to witness the heartwarming sight of a mother panda bonding with her cubs. We also saw other pandas including red pandas.

Next, we had an authentic Sichuan lunch, Charles ordered for us, everything was delicious, especially the beef, pork and vegetable dishes. Our next stop was Kuanzhai Alley, a lively area. Teresa mooreChengdu - Pandas and ParksWe did this day trip through an organised 10 day tour of China. Julie and our driver were punctual and polite. Julie was knowledgeable and friendly. We had a fabulous time with the Pandas and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the day visiting the historical sites. Julie gave us a small gift of a fan which we decorated with calligraphy and pictures whilst we had traditional tea in peoples park. A really lovely day Julie thank you.

The Jinsha Site museum was beautiful and the People's park was fun! Our guide, Julie was lovely and helped us spot pandas and take photos. She also took us to a brilliant coffee place and helped us with organising lunch. She had a lovely sense of humour and was a delightful guide.
