Day 1 Airport pick-up, Relaxing Day Tour in Addis Ababa
Welcome to join the 10 days Ethiopia tour packages! Upon your arrival at Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, our representative will pick you up from the airport and escort you to check in the hotel. After a good rest, we will show you around the National Museum of Ethiopia, where you will see remains of hominid bones of Lucy, "the grandmother of humanity". Then we will tour the Holy Trinity Church, the highest ranking church in the city, also the resting place for royal families and famous patriots of Ethiopia. At dusk, we will go to explore the largest open-air market in Africa, Merkcato.

Day 2 Private Transfer to Arba Minch(8h-9h, 500km), Visit Tiya and Dorze Village en route
The Ethiopia 10-day itinerary will start with a long drive to Arba Minch, a beautiful city in southern Ethiopia and the gateway to visit various tribes of the south. En route, we will pay a visit to Tiya, a significant archaeological site, declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its remarkable megaliths engraved with mysterious patterns. In the afternoon, we will also pull over to visit the Dorze Village high up in the Guge Mountains, just outside the Arba Minch, where the villagers are very good at building hive-like huts and fine cotton weaving. We will reach Arba Minch at dusk and stay overnight at the lodge.

Tips: It is suggested you have a big breakfast and bring with you some snacks and drink for the long ride.

Day 3 Enjoy Boat Trip on Lake Chamo, Continue driving to Jinka (5h-6h 270km)
After breakfast, we will go for a boat ride at Lake Chamo, connecting with Lake Abaya by the "Bridge of God". Except the mesmerizing scenery, we will also under the lead of the experienced boat man spot the rich wildlife around the lake including Nile crocodiles, hippopotamus and a good variety of water birds. In the afternoon, we will drive to Jinka, a market town situated on the mountain region above Mago National Park, served as a base for visiting nearby indigenous tribes. On the way, tour the Key Afer tribal market where different tribes will gather together to buy, sell and exchange. Overnight at the lodge in Jinka.

Day 4 Experience Mursi Tribes, Transfer to Turmi in the afternoon
This morning, we will drive through Mago National Park to Mursi tribal village in 2 - 3 hours. When arrive, pay a visit to Mursi warriors and plate-lip woman, and get to know their life style and traditions. After that, we will go back to Jinka. In the afternoon, we will drive 4 hours to Turmi, a small town at the heart of Omo Valley, and overnight there.

Day 5 Omorate Town Excursion to the Hammer and Karo
Omo Valley, a remote area in southern Ethiopia, is inhabited by over 20 distinct ethnic groups for centuries. Today we are going to visit two of them: Karo and Hamer. We'll first go to Hamer tribe. They are mostly semi-nomadic people, numbering about 46,500 and well known for their annual bull jumping ceremony on which a young boy could prove if he is grown-up enough to build a family of his own. Then we will go to visit Karo which is probably the smallest tribe in Ethiopia, with a population of only about 1,000 to 2,000. They are very good at creating stunning and elaborate body and face paintings. In the end, we will drive back to Turmi.

 Friendly Tips

Please don't give gifts or money to the tribe children randomly. Prepare enough cash if you want to take photos of or with the tribe people. To avoid unnecessary chaos, it is better to ask the tour guide to have a communication with the tribe leader before you take pictures.
Day 6 Departure from Turmi and Visit Konso Villages
Today we will have a 5 or 6 hours' drive to Konso Villages, recognized as a "cultural landscape" by UNESCO for its property of ancient stone walled terraces and fortified dwellings, showing how human beings had managed to survive in such a dry hostile environment and create out civilization. After arrival in the afternoon, we will also pay a visit to Konso Museum built to protect their waka, a kind of memorial statues caved out of a hard wood and symbolizing the deceased, functioning as grave markers.

Day 7 Transfer to Hawassa, Enjoy Leisurely Time around Lake Hawassa
In the morning, we will go for a 6 - 7 hours' drive to the city of Hawassa, located on the shore of Lake Hawasa in the Great Rift Valley. After arrival, you could have a good rest and then enjoy your own company strolling around the scenic lake and observing different species of water birds as well as hippopotamus over sunset.

Day 8 A Scenic Drive to Bale Mountains National Park
This morning, we will go to experience local's life at the daily fish market on the lake shore. It is also a great place to spot a great number of water birds, especially the African marabou storks. Later, we will drive 6 hours to the headquarter of Bale Mountains National Park. Many wild animals around the headquarter like mountain nyala and Minilik Bushbuck have gotten quite used to humans. So it is one of the few regions in this park where you could walk among animals. Next, we will go on driving to the lodge located 100 km (62 mi) away and check in before nightfall.

Day 9 Enjoy full day safari in Bale Mountains National Park
Today we will tour around the Bale Mountains National Park! The national park covering an area of 2,200 square kilometers (1,370 square miles) comprises of grasslands, woodlands, meadows and swamps, and moorlands inhabited by a great variety of rare endemic animals like Ethiopia wolves, Bale monkey, giant forest hogs, and some of Rift Valley's most threatened bird species. In the morning, we will go on safari at the region of Hrenna Forest, where you could see plenty of Ethiopian endemic birds, mammals and amphibious. Then we will move to Sanetti Plateau and have a picnic lunch there. In the afternoon, hike along the top of the peak over the plateau in search of the endangered Ethiopia wolves and getting close to other African animals.

Day 10 Drive back to Addis Ababa (8h-9h, 420km), Airport see off
Today, we will drive back to the capital city Addis Ababa and get there at about 5 pm. After arrival, you could go for some shopping at the city center before we send you to the airport at night. Thanks for travelling with us. Bon voyage!
