Northern Lights Experience

After you landing on Keflavik International Airport, please go to the hotel for check in by yourself. If you arrive early, you may hang out in the old district, or enjoy a deep relax in the geothermal hot spring after check-in. It is suggested to contact our travel consultant to give you some professional advice.

After breakfast, our driver guide will pick you up at around 8:45 am. We will first visit Hveragerdi, the center of Iceland's greenhouse industry, and then head to Gullfoss Waterfall. The waterfall glows in the sun's reflection, so it is also known as the Golden Waterfall. Not far from it is the famous Geysir Hot Spring, which erupts every a few minutes with astonishing jets of water. Finally we will visit Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, two of the most beautiful waterfalls on the south coast of Iceland. If you are going to walk to the back of the fall, be sure to wear waterproof clothing and non-slip hiking boots.

Today's trip will start at the Skaftafell Area in Vatnajokull National Park. We will hike on the glacier all the way to Svinafellsjokull, the foremost edge of the glacier, known as "tongues" of glacial. Next we will visit Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, which has been the setting of many popular films. Then we will go to visit the nearby Diamond Beach. At the end of the day, check in the hotel in Hofn.

In the morning we will drive from Hofn, pass through the Almannaskard Pass and finally arrive at East Fjords. Along the way you can enjoy the spectacular coastline. The East Fjord region boasts a long coastline, historic fishing villages, magnificent natural scenery, and majestic waterfalls. Today's sightseeing will end at a small town Egilsstadir, near Iceland's largest forest.

Today, we will visit Lake Myvatn Area. The rugged mountains on the horizon give Lake Myvatn Area its pristine beauty of isolation. Caribou can be seen from time to time on the vast Modrudalsoraefi plateau. Next we're going to visit the biggest waterfall in Europe, Dettifoss, which can be found from a distance by following the sound of loud water. Next stop will be Namaskard Pass for the amazing geothermal wonders. After that, the driver guide will lead you to explore the pseudo crater of Skutustadir and Laxa Salmon River.

The new day will begin in the strange lava maze of Dimmuborgir. A massive volcanic eruption more than 2,000 years ago gives the area its unique look: molten lava flowed for more than 12 kilometers and cooled along the way to form the lava rocks of today's different shapes. After that we will visit Godafoss and the old turf farm Laufas. Next stop is Akureyri, a central city in northern Iceland, where you can admire the stunning architecture and beauty of Eyjafjordur Fjord. After arriving at the Troll Peninsula, you can appreciate the breathtaking views along the steep mountain ranges of the Arctic Ocean and the black sand coastline, and eventually this road will take us to today's destination Siglufjordur.

After breakfast we'll go to visit the Herring-Era Maritime Museum. Then drive past Skagafjordur, which is famous for Icelandic horses, and Blondos Village located on the banks of the Blanda River, and cross the Holtavorduheidi Plateau to reach western Iceland.

After having breakfast, your driver guide will accompany you to tour around western Iceland, starting with a visit to the hot spring, Deildartunguhver. When stopping by Waterfalls in Hraunfossar, you can clearly see that underground glacial water spills over lava and makes a beautiful stream. There is also Barnafoss Waterfall nearby we will visit. In the afternoon we will explore Thingvellir National Park, a famous UNESCO heritage site with many geothermal springs, craters and other geological wonders. Finally, we'll go back to Reykjavik by car. Our Iceland Northern lights trip will be over.
