Sicily Leasure Tour

The chaperon will pick you up at Palermo International Airport on time and then transfer you to your downtown hotel by a private car. Along the way, your chaperon will show you how to use the local app and introduce the main attractions of Palermo for you. Palermo's architecture combines traditional European styles with Byzantine and Arab styles. You can also have a first impression of them on the car.

Accommodation: Hotel Politeama or similar

The guide will pick you up at your hotel at 11:00 am. Today's itinerary will start by visiting the Palermo Market and sampling the local cuisine. In the afternoon the guide will show you around the city. Palermo has been ruled by different nationalities and cultures, so it has been left with diverse culture and exquisite architecture of different styles. Today's trip will finish at about 5:00 pm.

Please check out after breakfast. Your private chauffuer will transfer you to Agrigento later. It is not only Sicily's famous tourist destination, but also home to the Valley of Temples, a world cultural site. The Valley of Temples is a collection of the best-preserved temples outside Greece. After having lunch, the chauffeur will transfer you to Siracusa. Arrive at Siracusa in about 2.5-3 hours, check into a local hotel.

Today we will spend about 3 hours touring Temple of Apollo, Piazza Duomo, Archimedes Square & much more. Siracusa is where the famous Greek philosopher and mathematician - Archimedes was born and died. The philosopher Plato also lived in Siracusa for some time. During the Greek occupation of Siracusa, numerous Greek temples and theatres were built here. Lunch is on your own. In the free afternoon, you may head to Fontane Bianche to enjoy the beach views, which will be a happy ending of today.

After breakfast, we will depart from the hotel at 9:00 am by a private car to the mountain town, Taormina. Upon arrival at around 10:30 am, your guide will first accompany you to the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, which was built in the 3rd century BC and is the second largest theatre in Sicily. It is the most distinctive Greek theatre in the world because it is built on a cliff. After lunch, your guide will lead you to visit the Church of Santa Caterina and Duomo di Taormina. In the afternoon, send you back to the hotel in Siracusa.

If the International Greek Festival offered by INDA is running, we can include an optional tour to watch the show in the Greek Amphitheatre.

On the 6th day, we're going to explore Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Please check out after breakfast and your driver will pick you up from the hotel at 9:00 am. Mount Etna is located to the north of Siracusa, about 100 km away. Upon arrival, first take a Mountain Ski Lift to the 2,600 m high station and then take a 4×4 Monster Truck to the 3,000 m high place where our professional guide will escort you to explore the magnificent snow-capped mountains and craters. After the hiking, the guide will lead you to a vineyard for food and wine. Then you will be sent to the hotel in Catania, taking about an hour on the way.

After breakfast, our local guide will come to the hotel to pick you up and start the Catania Private Walking Tour. During the 2 hours' walking tour, you can see the Baroque Catania Cathedral, take beautiful photos at Ursino Castle, listen to your guide talking about the history of the Kingdom of Sicily, visit the Catania Fish Market, and get an close look at the daily life of Sicilians. In the afternoon you can move freely as you like.

Your Sicily tour packages will be over today. The chauffeur will send you to Catania International Airport so you can catch the flight home or to your next destination.
