Just northeast of Summer Palace is the Ruins of Yuanmingyuan. It was also called the Old Summer Palace by western tourists to distinguish from the Summer Palace. With an area of 346 hectares, it had been built into the largest and most magnificent garden during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, but was destroyed by British and French troops in the late 19th century and it is deserted now. All these attractions except the Ming Tombs and Great Wall are all located in the city proper, which you can use two days to finish visiting. For others, You can spend one day to the Great Wall. If your time is rush and you have convinient vehicle, you can arrange the Ming Tombs at the same day with the Great Wall.
