Sand Lake is 35 miles north of Yinchuan. Since this locale is a world of desert and lake, it is an ideal place for bird watching, sand sliding and cableway sliding. Admiring reeds, lotus and fish is also popular. Shapotou lies 93 miles south of Yinchuan. It is one of the most beautiful deserts in China.
