How to Get to and Travel Around Tanzania?

There are three international airports in Tanzania: Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) near Arusha, Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam, and Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ). If you take an overland wildlife safari in northern part, you may fly to Kilimanjaro Airport, as it is the gateway to Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Alternatively, you may arrive in Dar es Salaam Airport or Zanzibar Airport, then connect flight to southern parks, like Selous and Ruaha of Tanzania tour packages. 4WD car drive is the best way to transfer from park to park in same region. Meanwhile, taking flight between northern and southern parks is comfortable and time-saving.

When is the Best Time to Travel Tanzania?

Located at East Africa, Tanzania has a pleasant tropical climate but it may vary greatly by altitude and terrain in coast, low-lying western and southern. The best time to take a Tanzania vacation is in dry season from late June to October because of less rainfall and great wildlife viewing, especially the Great Migration in northen Serengeti from July to September. However, the rainfall will not interfere with your wildlife viewing in northern circuit parks (Serengeti and Ngorongoro) in low season, when the number of tourists are less, the parks are not that much busy, and accommodation rates are also lower.

Is Tipping Customary in Tanzania Tours?

Tipping is certainly not obligatory in Tanzania tour packages. But it is a common practice to tip by expressing the satisfaction to the people who provide great services. And the tipping is the significant part to the recipient's income. To avoid any awkwardness, we suggest you take some changes of local currency or US Dollars.
