Four of us will be travelling next month and staying at Taizi Hotel. Is it very far from the city and how much would taxi cost? What about taxi fare to the airport from Taizi Hotel? Is there any night attraction in that area?
Oct. 24,2009 02:28
Mr.Sam replied:
This hotel is located about 17kms away from the city center of Guilin and 20kms to the airport. Both of the taxi fare should be around 50RMB.

As to the hote, how about you budget on the hotel?! How about this:

Suggest you choose the hotel in city center or along the Li River.
Zhongshan Middle Road in Guilin is a Muslim community. You can find food there.
The temperature at that time is about 8-10C. You can just wear sweater and overcoat.
That's all. Hope it helps.

What is the best mode of transport from Zhouqing to Guilin, we are travelling in a group of 3 adult. How long it will take to reach Guilin by train or coach?
Jul. 30,2009 23:13
Mr.Shan replied:
Zhouqing? Is it should be Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province? If so, you could consider transfering in Guangzhou. You could take a bus from Zhaoqing to Guangzhou quickly in 2 hours. From Guangzhou Railway Station, there are two trains departing to Guilin everyday, takes about 11~12 hours.

Ms.Evelyn(China) replied:
The easiest way from Xian to Guilin, of course, is by plane. Train ia also available, but the trip is too long (about 27 hours). I think you cannot stand that probably.

I'm planning to visit Guilin, Terrace rice field, and Yangshuo in late June/early July. My reserach leads me to the following questions. Please kindly advise me.
1) I'm planning to visit the terraced rice field independently (without taking the tour); and I need to take the bus from Guilin to Pingan. I am having trouble locating the bus station in Guilin? What is the closest hotel to the bus station in distance?
2) Several reviews mentioned that there's no official bus station in Longshen and Pingan. How do I catch the bus from Terrace rice field back to Guilin?
3) I want to stay 2 nights in Pingan, is it safe to do so? If so, what hotels/guesthouses are recommended?
4) Where is the dock station for taking the boat ride from Guilin to Yangshuo?
5) Where is the bus station going from Yangshuo back to Guilin?
Jun. 7,2009 03:59
Mr.jack replied:
HI, Mr. Tran, Here is my answers for your reference:
1. There is no direct bus from Guilin to Ping'an Village. Generally, you shold get to Guilin Bus Termianl at to catch the bus to Longsheng (two hours)and then change to regular bus to the terrace (another one hour or so). The bus terminal is at 427, Zhongshan South Rd. Hotels nearby, Lingui Hotel, Lianfa Business Hotel. There are also several other hotels along the road.
2. Back to Guilin: take bus at Ping'an Parking lot and the last bus to Guilin at 16:30.
3. It is ok to have a stay there. Recommended: Quanjinglow, Dazhai Wanjinglou, or Longsheng Shenlongtang Hotel.
4. The dock name: Mopan Shan. It is little far away from the city center, so it will be a little expensive to take a taxi.
5. Yangshuo bus station is in Pantai Road, next to the West Street.

Ms.Ruth(China) replied:
It's said that during these days it often rains in Guilin. When the sun comes out, it's very hot. Coach bus from Guilin to Dali is not available in Guilin Coach Bus Station. You can go to Kunming from Guilin by train and then take a coach bus from Kunming to Dali.

I will visit Guilin end of September until early of October this year with my family. I would like to know the weather over there? Besides, we are not following any tour (free & easy), which hotel is convenient to us? Is there easy to get travel agency provide city tour or the place we want to visit?
Apr. 17,2009 01:38
Mr.Wang(China) replied:
It is rather hot in the end of September, T-shirts with skirts, shorts or slacks are the best choice, and It would be wise to bring sun block with you. You are suggested to book the hotel as least one month earlier during the travelling peak season(National Day in October). You may choose the hotel with your preferred location and price in this website directly. Besides, travelchinaguide can arrange the Private Tour in Guilin as per your request, you can send e-mail to hotel@travelchinaguide.com about your request to get the details.

Ms.rachellhy(China) replied:
base on your situation, you'd better rent a hotel for monthly. There are some hotel can service for long time not daily. As I know, some local people have building, that's cheap, just RMB20/night or a little higher. But I'm not sure is that still have rooms.
