Wangfujing Impression - One Day Bicycle Trip in Beijing

The golden commercial district - Wangfujing in Beijing has been well-known both at home and abroad nowadays. Like climbing up the Great Wall Wall, strolling along the Wangfujing Street has also been listed in many travelers' schedule when they visit Beijing. The prosperous Wangfujing area attracts people not only for its shopping status but also for the numerous historical sites nearby. The below one day bicycle tour is designed for you to get a rough impression of the Wangfujing area.

Starting from the Oriental Square in the south of Wangfujing Street, you will ride towards east along the East Chang'an Street. The road is wide and clean with green thick trees standing on each side. Then you will pass through the Working People's Culture Palace, also called Taimiao, which lies in the east of the Tiananmen Square. It used to be the imperial ancestral temple in Ming and Qing dynasty. Now it was used for people to hold activities such as workers training and talent exchanging.

Continue cycling, you will reach the Tiananmen Tower at the north end of the Tiananmen Square which claims to the world's largest square. At the center of the Square stands the grand Monument to the People's Heroes; In the west of the Square is the Great Hall of the People while in the East stands the China National Museum. The Mao Zedong Memorial Hall is at the south side. The Five Star Red Flag - the Chinese national flag, flies high in the sky above the Square.


Tiananmen Tower, Beijing

Head forward along the West Qianmen Street, you will have a close view of the Zhengyang Gate and feel the atmosphere of the vision at the Qianmen Street. Turn right to ride along the West Square road, the splendid and majestical Great Hall of the People will appear before your eyes which functions as the People's Republic of China's parliament building.

Go on riding and turn left to the West Chang'an Street, you will see the National Grand Theater and then followed the Fuyou Street which is a clean and silent street with flourishing locust trees on the sides. Towards the end of this bicycle tour, you will arrive at the Wenjin Street where you may take a visit to the National Library or the Beihai Park. The Beijing Park is one of the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial gardens in China. On the east of the Beihai Park are the Forbidden City and the Jingshan Park. It takes about two to three hours for you to visit the Forbidden city and about one hour to visit the Jingshan Park. If you would like to have a good view of all the spots mentioned in one day, you are advised to get up early. At the end of the route, you will pass through the Wusi Avenue and reach the north of the Wangfujing Street. Starting from the south and ending at the north of the Wangfujing Street, you will have an unforgettable bicycle tour in Beijing by experiencing Wangfujing with your own eyes.
