What to Expect

Located in the center of Beijing, Beihai Park is the earliest and the best preserved classical royal garden in China. Witnessing the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties for nearly a thousand years, it is the foremost representation of royal gardens and a masterpiece of culture and art of ancient times. Beihai Park draws on gardening techniques from various places. It has not only the magnificence of gardens in north China but also the graceful charm of private gardens in south China.
