How long it takes visiting Shexian, Xidi, Honcung?
Hello, I´m going to Huangshan this summer and after climbing the mountain I would like to visit some villages around the mountain: Shexian, Xidi, Honcung... In order to plan my trip, how many days do you recommend me to stay in this area to see at least this three places? Thanks in advance.

I think 2 at most 3 days are ok if you travel there individually.

Most of the hotels in Huangshan Mountain are in Beihai Peak. Places are different for sunrise and sunset. Beihai, Guangmingding can be stayed to see the sunrise. As to the sunset, Xihai has better location. I am not sure about the specific time from TUnxi back to Shanghai now. There are bus direct from Huangshan Mountain to Shanghai and you can also get to Tunxi first and then get back to Shanghai. Generally, the last bus leaves at 15:30. You should confirm the time through the bus station.

Yes, it is fine to visit there in mid-May. May has much rain, comparatively. It is getting colder since late September. May and early September are both okay.
