I am planning to travel to Huangshan in June, staying one night, may be two, and have the following questions:
1) I plan to stay at Beihai Hotel, where is the best place to see sunrise?
2) How far is Beihai from One Hundred Ladder? Is it difficult to go there, can I come back with a different route.
Thank you

1. Most people watch the sunrise at the Houzi Guanhai(猴子观海)。
2. Beihai Hotel is not far from the on hundred ladder, it is difficult to go there, you can try another route to come back.

Hello. There's no direct bus from Shanghai to Huangshan Scenic Area. But there is direct bus from Shanghai to Huangshan City. so you can go to Huangshan City first and then Huangshan Scenic Area.

We are traveling from Shanghai to Huang Shan for a weekend trip. Does any one know the best way to get there. Would it be worthwhile to take a train from Shanghai to Hangzhou and then a bus over to Huang shan. Does anyone know where I can find a bus schedule and/or a travel agent to book our tickets.

Suggest you go by bus. As the expressway has been completed, it is easy to get to Huangshan from Shanghai. You can get to the bus station in Gongxing Rd, Xujiahui Bus Station and the bus station in the north square of Shanghai Railway Station. It seems there are buses at 6am and 3pm-4pm. The bus schedule is changeable. You can make a inquiry in advance at the bus stations. Buy the ticket to Huangshan (Tunxi), not Huangshan (Taiping). The former one is faster: 4 hours. Then you can get direct bus to Haungshan Scenic area from Tunxi. There are also direct trains from Shanghai Railway Station, but it is much slower: 12 hours.
