From Beijing West Railway Station, you could take train to Hankou Railway Station or Wuchang Railway Station. The fastest train takes about 9 hours on the way. Well, you could search the train timetable and fare at https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/

Well, if you would like to save time, you could fly directly, the real-time airlines and airfare could be searched at https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-flights/

I think you could make a plan to visit Wuhan City for 3~5 days, and then take a ship cruising along the Yangtze Cruise until to Chongqing City.

Yichang is about 320kms away from Wuhan, taking about 3 hours by bus. But, the distance to Beijing and Shanghai is much longer, so it is suggested you take a train or plane.

Will you take the Yangtze Cruise? Haw, I just had a Yangtze Cruise two years ago. It was so good~ Will you board on the ship in Wuhan, just as what I did? If so, you are lucky to visit this beautiful city, so many things to do. I think you could refer to the list at https://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/hubei/wuhan/ .

As for Yichang, I don't there will be any very excellent attractions here. Actually, it is mainly used at one of the terminal of the Yangtze Cruise.

Have a nice trip~
