Do you mean that you will take the train from Lhasa to Beijing? Or will you take the train from Lhasa to Xi'an first and after then take another train to Beijing? If so, you can try to reserve the train ticket from your hotel in Lhasa and Xi'an by paying certain handling service charge.

Visitors who want to visit Lhasa from Katmandu have to hold the China visa reconfirmed by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. And the original passports, faxed copies of travel permit and authorization letter from the Tibetan agent are necessary to complete the procedure, which is a little bit complicated, i think.

By the way, the soft sleeper berth is ¥1262 on the train of Beijing/ Lhasa. It is ¥825 on the train of Lhasa/ Xi'an and t is ¥417 on the train of Xi'an/ Beijing.
