Soft sleeper safety
Hello, I am making a solo trip from Beijing to wudangshan on the overnight sleeper train. Do you have advice about whether a soft sleeper, or the hard sleeper)open carriage is recommended for a woman on her own? I'm obviously not sure who else might be in the carriage with me.
Many thanks for your advice

Based on my experience, the safety of using sleeper bed is not a problem. If you are worried about it, maybe hard sleeper is even better than soft sleeper. It is true that it is a little awkward to sleepe in an open space and face other strangers, but in other words, open space feel safer than a locked cabin at night.

Is there any meal for sale on K261 from Beijing to Wudangshan?
Can I take food, drinks and fruits into the train?

There should be meal for sale but from my experience with overnight sleeper rides, normally only simple food for sale. Chinese people seems like to buy cup noodle, box meal. Taking food of your own is no problem, drinks too! Well, the drinks maybe checked at the station security. If you want to avoid it, you can buy drinks inside the station, but the price is higher than supermarket.
