Hi, the entrance fee is 10 yuan. However, if you want to visit the sites inside it, you need to pay related fees according to the regulation. The best way is to buy a overall ticket at first, it is about 70 yuan. With the that ticket, you can visit nearly all the places without paying other extra fees.

The maps of Beijing are NOT SPECIFIC. They should print a detail map of EACH AREA since Beijing is BIG and the small streets and other hotels in that area are not shown. Like Shi Ji Huang Shan hotel. From Tiananmen Square, we just took a straight street passing Temple of Heaven. We even passed by a hospital near in hotel and I never saw that on the map. I don't think they are showing the lesser known hotels in Beijing. Unlike Hong kong where the maps are detailed of each district. Hope they can find time to check the website of Hong Kong and get lessons from it. I wanted to explore Beijing on my own but was afraid to get lost and I don't speak Mandarin. Hopefully they can make a new one by the time I go back there.

Leaflets for a guided tour to chinese wall, summer palace and ming tombs that they distribute in the centre - I got one at tiananmen square. It's lies - they charge you extra money on the bus and don't take you to the summer palace, instead of which they make you spend about 2 boring ours in a tib/etan folk museum and one hour in expensive jade market.
