By Bus

Public Bus
Public bus lines cover all the areas in Hankou, Wuchang and Hanyang at the very low price of 1 yuan or 1.2 yuan. Exact change is required.

Tourist Bus
For backpackers or budget travelers not booked with a group, an easy way to see the city is to take the Special Tourist buses with special routes designed to cover almost all the key city tourist spots. In all the Three Towns in Wuhan, buses with the initial number of 4 are special tourist line buses.

We recommend No. 401 and No. 402 buses, as they cover most of the famous attractions in Wuhan. No. 401 will take you to Yellow Crane Tower, East Lake, Heptachord Terrace (Guqin Tai) and Guiyuan Buddhist Temple (Temple of Original Purity). If you are interested in the provincial museum, take No. 402. An all-day ticket costs five yuan and the basic ticket is two-yuan.

Bus No.401 from 7:00 - 22:00 with intervals of five to ten minutes
Wuhan Passenger Port --> Hanjiang Walking Street --> Heptachord Terrace (Guqin Tai) --> Guiyuan Buddhist Temple --> Yellow Crane Tower --> East Lake (Plum) --> East Lake (Milling Hill) --> East Lake (Bathing Place)

The light metro in Wuhan operating from 6:30 a.m. to 21:30 p.m. is another choice. Starting price is 1.5 yuan for six stops; above six stops, you will be charged two yuan.

Language Tip
Street and stop names are always headache for travelers in China. One easy practice is to ask a university student or hotel concierge to write the Chinese character of your destination on a piece of paper that you can take with you. Click for University Info in Wuhan.
