Bus no. 1 is correct, but there is some distance to the bus stops from your starting point and destination, so I suggest you use a taxi instead. It is only around 10km between the new town and the old drum tower. Just show this to the driver:请带我到渭南鼓楼.

I am also not so familiar with this area, but I know Mt. Huashan is a worthy destination near the high-tech zone. It is 60-70km between. Or you can just invite a local peson to take you around the zone for a good visit.

Since you has already reached the peak, you can walk from the east peak, then south peak, central peak, the west peak and then the north peak. Then take a cable car from the north peak to get down.
It is not needed to go down from the east peak and then use the cable car to reach the top again.
Hope it helps ~

Besides taxi, there is no direct transport for the journey. By bus, you can take a bus at WN Bus Station to Lintong. Upon your arrival, it is suggested to catch a taxi to Terracotta Warroirs directly.
