How to Travel from Shenzhen to Hong Kong Airport

The distance from Shenzhen to Hong Kong International Airport is around 50 kilometers (31miles). Four ways of transportation are available for passengers to choose. Note that the ferries are only available for passengers with the same day flight ticket in HKIA.

1. Best High Speed Train + Airport Express: 35 - 45 minutes, HKD 180 - 190

→ Take high speed train from Shenzhen Futian/ Shenzhen North Railway Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station: 14 - 24 minutes, CNY 109 - 120/ HKD 127.5 - 140 for a first class seat, CNY 68 - 75/ HKD 79.5 - 87.5 for a second class seat
→ Take airport express train from Kowloon Station to the airport: 21 minutes, HKD 100

2. Second Choice - Bus: at least 1h, HKD 160-190

From Shenzhen Bay Port: every 15 minutes from 06:45 to 21:30; 1h; CNY150/HKD160

From Shenzhen Bao'an Airport: 18:30, 19:00, 20:30; 3-5h; CNY170/HKD180

From Shenzhen Futian Bus Station: 08:30 - 19:15 every 45-60 minutes; 2.5h; CNY150-180/HKD160-190

Note: Make sure you have valid passport and visa before you book the ticket.

3. Ferry for Airline Passengers: 30/40 minutes, CNY380

Shenzhen Shekou Port - SkyPier, HKIA

Schedule: 07:15, 08:45, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:15

Duration: 30 minutes

Notes:
1. The two routes are only for passengers who make a transfer at HKIA. Passengers who want to stay in HK is not available.
2. Valid flight tickets of designated airlines (Sky Pier Terminal Participating airlines) on the same day, passport and visa are needed to take the ferry.
3. For passengers leaving from Shekou Port, the duration between the ferry departure and the flight departure should be no shorter than 180min. The ferry boarding stops 30 minutes before the departure and the flight and luggage check-in service stops 45min before the ferry departure.
4. The baggage tag-through service provides a hassle-free journey to passengers, which directly delivers baggage from Shenzhen Shekou and Fuyong (Shenzhen Airport) ferry ports to Hong Kong airport. One can get boarding pass and the Departure Tax Refund Coupon of HKD120 in Shenzhen ports instead of HKIA. Please note that the services are not available for all airlines, and you had better confirm with your airlines in advance.

4. Cheapest Way - City Traffic + Airport Bus

Passengers can also travel from Shenzhen to Hong Kong International Airport via those land ports.

From Lo Wu Port: 80min; HKD 58.1

→ Take East Rail Line to Sheung Shui bus stop
→ Transfer to airport shuttle bus line A43 to the airport

From Huanggang Port: around 90 minutes; HKD 20.7

→ Take bus line 75 to Castle Peak Road, Yuen Long, Tai Tong Road
→ Change to airport shuttle bus line E36 to the airport

From Man Kam To Port: 85 minutes, HKD 32.4

→ Take bus line 73k to Sheung Shui bus stop
→ Transfer to airport shuttle bus line A43 to the airport

From Shenzhen Bay Port: 90 minutes, HKD 24.7

→ Take bus line B2P to Tin Shui Wai Police Station
→ Change to airport shuttle bus line E37 to the airport

Note: The time for passing the port is not included in the duration listed above.

You can search for Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)/AIRPORT (GTC) BUS TERMINUS (Bus) as the origin and Shenzhen Bay Port as the destination on hkemobility.gov.hk

I want to take a bus from Shenzhen bay port to HKIA, since the interval is every 15 minutes, do I have to book in advanced or just buy the ticket at the station?

According to the official website of HKIA Airport, the upstream check-in service of Thai Airways is temporarily suspended until further notice.

It depends on the destination. Usually, the futher you take the taxi, the higher the fee. Generally, it takes around HKD250 from the airport to Tsim Sha Tsui.
