Itinerary: 7 Days of Yangtze River of Chongqing - Fengjie - Baidicheng - Fengjie - Wushan - Fairy Stream - Wushan - Maoping - Yichang

Yangtze Shennong stream excursion

Upon your arrival in Chongqing, you are advised to stay in the International Youth Hostel near Chaotianmen port. It is located at No. 80 Changbin Road, Yuzhong District Chongqing. The phone number is 023-63104208/ 63104270. You can make the reservations in advance. It is about 10 minutes' walk to Chaotianmen Port where you will take the speed boat to the next stop. It is our suggestion that you don't stay up the night before.

On the second day morning, get on board the hydrofoil ferry to Fengjie at Chaotianmen Port. There are about 480 kilometers from Chongqing to Fengjie. En route, enjoy the nice scenery and get the first impression of the Three Gorges.

Yangtze Three Gorges cruise tour

Baidicheng is located about 8 kilometers away from Fengjie County, and it takes about 20 minutes from Fengjie County to Baidcheng by boat. Alternatively, taking bus is also a good way to reach there. Have a visit at Baidicheng and you will know much about Chinese history. The admission fee is ￥90.00. Afterwards, continue hiking Qutang Gorge along the plank road and view the overwhelming landscape of Quimen and Qutang Gorge. Though Qutang Gorge is the shortest among the Three Gorges with the length of only 8 kilometers, it is quite adventurous and time-consuming to trek through it. The road condition from Baidicheng to Fengxiang Gorge is comparatively good, and the guardrail is made to keep people away from dangerous cliff. However, the road becomes narrower from Fengxiang Gorge to Baigebei signal station. It is about 3-4 hours' hiking. You can take the boat from the signal station to Daxi old town, where you may have a short visit. Afterwards, catch the boat to Wushan that departs at 15: 30. It is about an hour's voyage from Daxi to Wushan. En route, you may happen to some locals who may take your ferry to cross the river. Stay overnight at Wushan.

On the fourth day, take the boat to Fairy Stream to appreciate the wondrous view. It is about 20 kilometers away from Wushan. Approximately, one hour is enough for the voyage from Wushan to Fairy Stream. If you have more companions, you may take the yacht to be there with only 27 minutes' ride. The admission fee is ￥100.00. You can call the number is 023-57691925 for further information. Opposite to the stream is the Fairy Peaks, you may climb up the hill as you like. Take ferry back to Wushan.

Boating tracking

The lesser Three Gorges and Mini-Lesser Gorges along Daning River are worth visiting on the next day. Take the boat at Wushan port in the morning. The par value is ￥150.00 per ticket. In fact, you may get the discounted price if you bargain with the salesperson. After you arrive at the entrance to Mini-Lesser Gorge, you need to change to another boat for the sightseeing. About 5 hours is needed for the trip. Return to the port. Leave Wushan for Maoping by hydrofoil at 16:30 and arrive at Maoping at 18:30.

On the sixth day, take the bus from Maoping to Guilin Village to appreciate spectacular Xiling Gorge at Zigui bus station. It is about one and a half hour's drive there. The bus is run every an hour from 06: 50 am to 16: 00 pm. After getting off the bus, hike to sightseeing stand, climb the widened Chain Cliff. All picturesque sceneries will fall into your eyeshot. Return to Maoping by bus and visit the largest dam in the world – the Three Gorges Dam

On the last day, take the bus to Yichang and your hiking tour ends here.
